The time has come 3 months left of the race, it is time for Africa! Since I was about 5 years old I have wanted to go to Africa. The Lord gave me a dream and it was me living in Africa in a hut as a missionary! Years ago Papa said I was going to go and look here I am. Stop number one is Ethiopia! I can’t even believe that I am here and get to stay and experience culture in a continent I always knew I was going to come to.
Coming into this season there are some changes. New Continent, and New Team. With all the changes happening you would think I would be freaking out but it’s the exact opposite. I can’t explain it but there is so much peace in my soul about the next three months and finishing the race. I am so excited to start this season with my new team, The Cheetah Gurls!!
This month in Ethiopia is going to be one crazy ride and I am so excited. This month my team and I are doing ATL. I know this team is going to push me to grow, and expierence Africa in a beautiful way! Now you may have some questions so let me answer them.
-
What is ATL you ask? No it is not Atlanta, Georgia; it is ask the Lord.
-
What does that mean to ask the Lord? Exactly what it says, we wake up everyday ask the Lord what He has for us, who we should take to, we invite Him into our ministry.
-
What are you doing? I am asking the Lord everyday what my day should look like. It is up to Him, how I spend my time.
-
Where are you going? Well that the thing, we were not given a specific area, or town to go to just a people group. The Hamer Banna people are who I am going to minister to this month. We do not know a whole lot about our people group yet.
-
Where are you staying? Right now I am in a hostel with my team and tomorrow we leave the hostel we are at and are going to be staying in an air bnb apartment for the next couple days to pray about our time and plan as a team. After that we are unsure, we may be tenting, staying at another hostel. It’s unclear right now.
Please be praying for me and my team this month as there are so many unknowns to come, we are resting in the fact that we are together and Papa has called us to this people group for a purpose and He will reveal that to us. I am so excited to get this month started and make my way to the Hamer Banna People.
I pinch myself almost everyday saying “God is this real, am I really here in Africa”? The is so good and is giving me joy, love and childlike excitement for this month. IT’S HAPPENING I’M HERE!!! My heart is bursting!
Going into Africa I asked the Lord what it was going to look like and how I can continue to grow with Him, in a special way. His answer was hard for me to swallow at first. I knew that going to Africa I was going to have very limited wifi and connection with home but God asked me to do something I didn’t really want to. So what I have decided to do the rest of the race is take a break from social media and for now not talking to anyone from home. I will still be posting my blog to facebook but nothing else.
This decision is to allow me to focus and be present where I am and what the Lord is doing in my heart already. I know this may be hard to hear but please know I love you all at home and love talking with you but right now I need to stay present to where I am and listen to what God is asking me to do even if it is hard.
THANK YOU ALL FOR SUPPORTING ME AND STANDING BY ME! I will still be posting blogs as much as I can.
