The World Race is one of the greatest things I have ever been apart of. It is also one of the hardest! I am beyond grateful for the people I have met through this journey! Leaving for the Race back in october I thought I would make some good friends but honestly was thinking I couldn’t make as good of friends as I had back home. My friends back home are amazing and I love them so much and really miss them so much!! There is something special about each person I have met in this journey! The people I am going through this race with will be apart of my life forever and will truly understand apart of me better than anyone else could because they experienced everything with me. Here are just some of the amazing friends I have made on this journey!
EEEEE!!!! RACHEL, oh how I love this special friend so much. Now me and rachel have never been on a team together but man I wish! This girls laugh is contagious and her smile lights up the room. Rachel you have so much to offer this world never let anyone tear you down!!! I have loved rachel since I met her at training camp! I knew I was going to be great friends with her and could trust her when one night in Argentina during all squad month. Rachel sat me down and said something that I will always remember.
“Jenny have I ever shared my testimony with you?”
“No I don’t think so, but I would love to hear it!!”
Man I have learned so much from you Rachel! One thing I have really learned from you is how to let people in. After that night in Argentina when you shared your beautiful story with me I knew I wanted to be able let people in the way you do! Thank you for being real and sharing this journey with me! Thank you for teaching me how to let people in on my story!
CRISTINA!! I love this beautiful soul so much! Cristina and I are now on a team together and I love it! Life with Cristina is always an adventure. I would not have been able to get through the last 3 months with her! Cristina’s relationship with the Lord is truly beautiful! I have learned what it looks like to truly take everything I have to the Lord from her. Cristina is in constant comunication with the Lord, she is talking to him as she lays her head down to sleep and as soon as she wakes up. (I know this because I sleep right next to her)
Cristina thank you for being the big sister I needed! Thank you for being my personal photographer, sounding board and a true friend! I love you so much thank you for always being there for me! I can’t wait to see what is next for you in life!
Well me and this beautiful friend started this crazy journey together. Unlike everyone else on my squad I knew Rashelle before the race! Me and Rashelle actually filled out our applications, trained, fundraised together! We went to the same church, same girls small group. I am so thankful for this girls friendship. Now even though we knew each other before, we were not super close friends; but going through this journey she has really become one of my best friends! We started talking about the race, applied, got accepted, traveled to training camp, and finally launched together! I love you so much rashelle! You have been there for me since the beginning. Thank you for sticking by me and pushing me forward!!! Thanks for always having jam sessions with me, listening to me me, crying with me and encouraging me!
Shannon is such a special person and I love her soo much! Me and shannon started our friendship at training camp and ever since then I knew she was a special friend. Me and Shannon were team leaders at the same time and now she is one of our squads Squad Leaders! Shannon you have been such a blessing to me and I am so thankful for each encounter we have! Shannon has taught me how to lead with love and humilty! She has such a great love for Jesus that it just spills out into our whole squad and everyone around her! Shannon thank you for showing me how to walk with love and humility while leading and in my life. You push me closer to Our Lord and I can never thank you enough for you friendship! Your friendship means the world to me! Thank you Big Sis!!!<3
AMY wow this girl is so amazing and I can’t believe she is one of the people I get to walk out this year with! Amy and I were also team leaders together and she is another one of our squad leaders! Amy I am so incredibly thankful for your friendship! Thank you for always being an amazing friend! Thank you for talking with me and always bringing me back down and helping me stay focused on Papa! I can’t even begin to list all the reasons I love you and thank God for putting you in my life!
TIFF<3 You are the best ever!! I am so incredibly thankful for everything you have helped me with over the last 7 months! Thank you for always pointing me back to the Lord and helping me stay focused on the present. I am so incredibly thankful for each conversation we have! I love you so much. Thank you for always listening to my thoughts, stuggles, celebrations and everything in between! I know that we will be friends forever. WOW, I don’t even know where to begin with this beautiful soul! Madi you have been there through everything! I can’t even put into words what your friendship means to me and how you have helped me become this person I am today! I miss our 12AM talks in the kitchen or bathroom LOL!! Thank you for being a person I can count on! Thank you for always believing in me even when I could believe in myself and pushing me to be the leader I am today! I seriously don’t know if i could have made it through the last 7 months or the first four without your friendship! You have taught me what being a true friend really is and I am so thankful for you! I miss being on a team and seeing you everyday! You have such a beautiful heart for people and I am so incredibly thankful I get to be a witness to you! Love you SO FREAKING MUCH!!!! <3
Taylor was my first friend on the squad! We skyped before training camp and me and rashelle even went like a week before training camp to hang out with her, tiff and tays family before! Taylor you are seriously one of my best friends and I feel lucky to call you best friend! I am so thankful for the ways you have helped me grow. You encourage me daily and I love you soo freakin much!! Thank you for always being there to help me process what the Lord is doing in my heart! I can’t imagine doing this crazy journey without you!!
El Capitan! Wendy is one of my favorite people in the world! She is so kind and puts up with my craziness everyday (As seen in this picture) LOL. Wendy thank you for being the friend I always need! You call me higher in the ways I need and encourage me so well! I love spending time with you whether it is walking, coffee dates, or a weekend in Budapest! I am so glad that we are on a team together! You are the best! Thank you for leading our crazy team!
One thing I have learned while on the race is one way I experience God is through people. I continue to learn about Papa through each of these people and the lessons they teach me. Thank you for being obedient and following the Lord, as well as sharing your lives with me!
I am so thankful for each lesson I have learned from you all! These people have helped me so much on this journey and I can’t wait to continue to learn from each of my squad mates the lessons Papa wants to teach me.
