“Therefore, We are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”–2 Corinthians 5:20

It is really starting to hit me that I leave for this crazy journey in 2.5 months!

What is the church? The question that has been on my mind and that I have been thinking about for a while.
“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—  one Lord, one faith, one baptism,  one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.  But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift.”–Ephesians 4:1-7
Growing up in America I think we can tend to think of the church as just a building…It is so much more. I have really begun to study What the Church is because I have been thinking about what the church will look like while in all these different countries. I may not have a building to go to or specific place to “GO”. But wherever two or more are gathered God is there! Church can happen anywhere; You don’t have to be in a specific time, place, or even building! The church is not just a building, it is so much more than that it is US. We are the church! We all make up the church and have a specific purpose. We are all unique and have different strengths and weaknesses but that is what makes us all work! In the church we are all individuals but we make ONE Body. Just like our bodies if part of us isn’t working properly then we can not function. Each person is unique in how they can be used and why God has put them in our body!
My idea of the “church” is continuing to change, and I’m excited to see how different cultures worship while on this great adventure! I am excited to see how God continues to change me and mold me over the next year! My squad is my “Church” for the next year and I can’t wait to serve with them all!
God has called us to be AMBASSADORS…What does that mean to you? When I think about being an Ambassador I think of someone who represents something so well, that it brings honor and worth to that thing, person or cause. We are all ambassadors for something; whether that means, your relationship with the Lord or your job/boss, Family. Whatever you represent you want to do it well so that when people think about it they know it is good. Like it says in Ephesians 4:1 Jesus urges us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called. We all have different callings in life, that what makes ministry fun! For me God has called me to pick up my life and follow hard after Him for the next year in 11 different countries! I am called to be a missionary, not everyone’s calling is the same. Your calling could look like just being a light in your work place, or for some of you your home! We are all called to be Ambassadors and Missionaries but it just looks different for each of us. We all have people in our circles of contact that no one else can reach! I am proud to be an ambassador for the Lord. I want to represent the Lord so well that when people look at me they don’t see me they see the Lord through His vessel. Being an Ambassador is being ready to defend and talk about the Lord and even why you believe the way you do! I am no where near perfect but I want people to be able to ask me about my life and why I am the way I am. My answer every time: This guy named Jesus changed my life want to hear how? I love when people ask Why do you want to go on the World Race? That gives me a chance to share my heart and share just how Jesus has changed me, and how He can change them!
We are all called to be Ambassadors for the Lord has called us to! How are you representing Him? When people look at you who do they see…?
I am ready to be pushed in my walk with the Lord over the next year, and be an Ambassador!
