I know that my last blogs talked about struggles but there were many good days and God was always there. Let me show you a glimpse into my month in the Philippines!
If you ever catch yourself in the Philippines
…
Measure the heartbeat and approximate length of growing babies in gestation at the pregnancy clinic.
Get coke in a bag like the locals do.
At the Children’s home: Dance with a two-year-old to Casting Crowns in the background, imagining how important this girl is to God. Praying for her future. Loving her happiness and giggles as she basically locks eyes with me and nose dives into my lap over and over again throughout the day.
Pour cement up in the air with an assembly line bucket system. It was so fun to see the physical achievement of your efforts.
Remember the names of the faces you pass frequently like Mr. Joe!
Paint concrete walls and recognizing that ministry can be laughing with and learning about your squad mates!
At the Children’s Home: Hold a two-year-old while he falls asleep feeling the potential God has for this little man praying that He will lean into it even if I can’t see the means of how that will play out, that his heart burns so hot for you He can’t ignore you Lord! Praising God for his sweet nature.
Worship on a basketball court under the night stars with a group of people who love the Lord and want to recognize Him for the toll he paid.
Squish into a cab so you don’t have to pay two cab fairs. Lol.
Scoop ladles of soup into kids and families’ bowls but praying that they run to You for spiritual food the way they run to the ladles of soup for physical food and with the same excitement.
Narrate your friends acting out the parable of the Lost Sheep!
Have an authentic Filipino meal. The real deal eating with our hands food served on banana leaves.
Ride in a JEEPNEY!!!
Jump off a Filipino waterfall:)
P.S. This is my adorable Squad:)
TTFN,
Jenny
