Hello and thanks for exploring my blog!

About me: My name is Jenna Rose, and I’m from Birmingham, Alabama. I’m 18, the youngest of 3, just graduated from Briarwood Christian High School, and have always wanted to do world missions.

I came to know the Lord at a young age which I’m so incredibly grateful for! I’m also blessed to be surrounded by constant teaching of the Word through my school, church, family, and amazing friends. God continues to pursue and reveal Himself to me in beautiful and unexpected ways. He has given me a heart that beats for Him and the service of His people. Through people, I see the image and beauty of our Father in a very real and vibrant way. I can’t wait to start my journey with World Race and witness the image of God in the faces of people all over the world.

How I got here: Going on a gap year isn’t extremely common among my community. I do know a few, but honestly, I never thought that few would include me! I was planning on attending a university next fall, but the Lord had another plan (as He often does!).

His plan was more amazing than I could ever have imagined! He literally was going to send me on a journey to do all 3 of my favorite things: talk about Jesus, love and connect with people, and travel! However, I didn’t know this yet so I didn’t trust Him. I was determined that the best thing to do was to go to college first. It’s what all the people around me are doing so that means it’s what I need to do, right? Nope. The Lord led me in a completely different direction.

One faithful day, I was talking to someone on the phone, and the words “gap year” slipped out. What? I’m not taking a gap year! Why did I just say that?…Yet, here I am! After that call, I began doing research on gap programs that provided missions work, and I was led to this amazing program!

So as you can see, the Lord was able to work through a very broken and unsteady person who thought she knew what was best. Someone shared a Proverb with me that has stuck in my head through this whole process. It’s Proverbs 16:9- “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” It’s hard for me to live like this, yet it’s absolutely vital.

So subscribe to my blog! I’ll tell you all about how a beautiful and mighty God will use an extremely broken human.
