Thank You!!!

Thank you, God! Thank you, dear sweet Hannah. Thank you, dear hubby Harvey. Thank you, V Squad racers. Thank You, V Squad parents. Thank you, Diane Leonard, Courtney, Maria, and Sarah’s Covenant Homes. Thank you Adventures in Missions. You changed my life. Going to India pushed me out of my comfort zone in a way I’ve never experienced. I have realized in a new way how blessed we are to live in a country like the USA. And I have seen anew how much I take for granted.

1. Toilet paper

2. Being able to flush toilet paper down the toilet, instead of putting it in a bucket in your      bathroom and having to look at it for the next 5 days

3. Utensils

4. Being able to use my left hand to eat whenever I want

5. Not having to wear long dresses or pants when it’s 100 degrees

6. Not having to eat rice every day

7. Our roadways, where a 2 lane road is actually a 2 lane road, and there is some semblance of order

I cant begin to say how amazed I am with our racers. My husband and I were exhausted after a week in India, and our children have been going since August. How weird and wonderful that we parents are now learning from our children. God’s love and peace show through them. I felt the power of the Holy Spirit in a whole new way. Hannah, Harvey, and I had talks, shared, and prayed together in ways we never had before. How wonderful but sad that it took us going to India and out of our comfort zones to be able to break ourselves down enough to do that. Sarah’s Covenant Homes – what a blessing. You are a beautiful representation of love. Taking in children with disabilities and giving them a home. Words do little to express the depth of what you are doing.

The people of India – I have never experienced your culture, other than the interactions I have with the students that attend my school here in the States. My heart is burdened in a new way. So many people in such a small area, wealth and poverty mixed together. I wanted to reach out and help, but didn’t know how. But then Hannah reminded me of the homeless people I just walk by back at home, and I was convicted anew. There’s so much I can do right where I live, but how often do I turn a blind eye? Thank you, World Race, for waking me up. I pray I don’t ever forget, I pray the Holy Spirit just gnaws away at my insides when I start taking my blessings for granted.

Love you all!

P.S. Catherine Bodkin, I still burst out laughing when I remember the video of you riding the mechanical yak!
