Dear William Jewell,
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I learned so much from you and I’m so, so, so grateful to be done with you. I lost myself from time to time in the midst of you but I also learned so much about myself and gained the best of friends as a result of you. You broke my heart hundreds of times (and you continue to), but you have helped begin to mold me into the person God has intended for me to be.
But I beg you, please stop breaking my friends’ hearts too. The devil is alive in you and you are allowing him to destroy the best parts of you. I urge you, PLEASE love the people in your life well despite your differences. Create a community of acceptance despite your convictions. Nothing will ever grow inside of you if you continue to be so hurtful.
I want the best for you, William Jewell, despite how much you hurt me. I want you to be happy and I want all of the people inside of you to be happy as well. I want you to be safe place for people to figure out who they are and I want you to be a place that creates a community that is proactive with issues instead of just talking about them.
So, please, love my friends well. Stop hurting them. They deserve to be loved so that they can give love in return. Stop letting the devil win inside of you. Rebuke his lies. I promise, you will be so, so much happier.
I forgive you and I want the best for you.
Love,
Hannah
