You guys, America is seriously lacking in the juice department. I’m not talking about all those juices pumped with sugar sitting in the refrigerator section. In El Salvador, every street corner you turn is filled with copious amounts of juice straight from the source. Just the other day I had cantaloupe juice and it was amazing. We can also walk to get fresh fruit smoothies every day if we would like. They’re huge and only $1.75.  All of the flavors are super prevalent or for lack of a better word BOLD.

Thus, begins the remainder of the rest of my blog post. My team, Vessel of Peace, has made it our goal to always strive to be bolder. Boldness is not typically a word I would attribute to myself, but it is something I am striving to become. I’ve prayed more out loud, given face to face feedback in front of my other teammates, tried to have conversations in Spanish, and tomorrow I will be leading my first small sermon for children’s ministry. I’m still as nervous as ever and I don’t think that is something that will ever change, but I believe so fiercely that God is going to give me the right words to speak into these little children’s minds that I am coming to terms with it. Sometimes people aren’t aware of the gifts God has given them right until the moment that the gift is needed. We can also take comments made to us at a very young age and cling to them for the rest of our lives even if they aren’t true. So, my prayer will continue to be boldness. Especially in the areas that I am fearful of. Jesus didn’t live a safe and quiet life, He lived a dangerous one, and I’m ready for my life to be turned upside down if that is what Jesus wants for me.

So, essentially what I’m saying is that I want Jesus to take all of the juice that I am drinking and turn it into boldness. I want to fight for the Lord with all of my being and if that means asking Him to make juice bold then so be it.

We’re only one week down and I’ve already learned so much about myself and my God. The church is not a building, it’s the people and I’ve got a great one here with me in El Salvador.

Love,

Hannah
