Now there are not a lot of things that I remember about my 7th grade year. In fact, all I can really remember is reading Outsiders, being in a school musical, and having a crazy amount of sleepovers. My middle school experience was not as traumatizing as some people my say theirs was. It was my first year being a cheerleader and growing as an individual and yes I know I made many fashion mistakes and probably didn’t have the best attitude all the time. I think that the Father started shaping my life then so I could be who I am today.
When we were in the Hills of India, Selah and Luna lived on a school campus and it was the funnest time I had had in a long time. We got the opportunity to have fun with the kids that went to the school. Me and Abby Elgard went back to seventh grade that week and I can emit I was a little scared, I mean what if it wasn’t going to be as good as my own experience. I prayed for the best and gave it my all.
We did multiple things that week each time we went in the class. We taught english by showing them how to play hang man. It might have taken them a couple of tries to understand but once they did it was game on; there was one time that I put a phrase on the board and the first girl stood up and shouted the phrase right way. We played heads up seven up a whole lot and we also played heads up. Since Abby loves to play her guitar we got to sing them a couple of american songs which was really fun.

Everyday when school ended me and a couple of the girls off luna would go and high five ALL the kids hands as they walked in a line to go home. Some of the kids actually didn’t leave the campus cause they had these things called hostels. The hostels held about 40 boys and girls. The teachers stay on campus and mentor them. They have nightly devotionals that we would help out with. We sang a whole bunch of songs that they loved and got really loud especially when the lights went out one night. After singing we always had a short word to tell them and then afterwards we would shout goodnight at each other all the way to our room. It was a fun time.
The whole long week we got to spend in the hills, like I said, was one of my favorite. Probably because I bought in to being their and poured into the people that were there. I loved getting to go back to 7th grade and make fun of myself and have fun doing it. Those kids were and are a pure joy to hang out with.
