In the blog “ 10 awesome things…”, I talked about my parents coming to India and a couple things that happened the week of PVT. I loved seeing my parents out side of their normal environment. They experienced so many things that they never would have been able to experience if they hadn’t of come to Sielmat. To say as their favorite oldest daughter I am very proud of them.
They overcame fears(check out the blog baggage claim), had lots of laughs, we had amazing talks about life, and we also did ministry together. One of my favorite ministry moments with them was being able to “world race it”, which basically means winging it, while teaching a classroom of about 25 2nd graders. We had them for a about two hours and both my parents and I didn’t really have a plan going into the classroom. To all my school teachers I know it sounds like the most worse plan but I think we did amazing. We started out by singing songs like “baby shark” and “the banana song,” and then my dad told the story of Zacchaeus from the bible, and then me and my mom sang “the little green frog” song. Of course we asked them to teach us some songs, so we got to hear those too. After all that the teacher wanted us to teach them about road signs. My parents definitely thought that I should have more of a plan going into the classrooms but I thought they just needed a good taste of some WR action.

One other thing we got to do was celebrate Easter with them which was cool. They got to go experience a church service with us and see us sing up in front of the congregation. Later that night we got to go “hunting” for candy; they tricked us into going all the way down stairs to look for hidden eggs even though they had all the candy and might I say american candy, on a table up stairs. All the parents thought it was hilarious and maybe I did to.

At the end of their stay we put on a big service for them starting with an awesome worship set then ending with the local people doing the bamboo dance for us and clothing our parents with the traditional Hmar scarf.

It was sad seeing them leave me the next day but I had an amazing time with them. Some people might say my parents are crazy for stuffing two weeks worth of personal items into one book bag and flying all the way across the world to an unknown place with burn your mouth off food, but I say that its what any loving parent would do for their child. Seeing them drop work and their lives for two weeks just to see what The Father is doing in my life and how I am letting Him mold me into a women of God, may have been what they thought they were doing but it was so much more because I got to see them actually let go of things that they were holding onto and trust in the Lord with all their hearts.
All I am saying is I have some mind blowing loving parents that seek the Father with all they have and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I LOVE Y’ALL!
