Dear family and friends,
We are so excited to announce that we will be heading out to do missionary work on the World Race in January 2018 for 11 months! The World Race is a program sponsored by the non-profit missions organization Adventures in Missions, which has been around since 1989 and has sent out over 100,000 missionaries around the world.
During these 11 months, we will be traveling to 11 countries to serve the people of these nations and share the Gospel with them. Within each country, our team will partner up with different local ministries to come alongside of and work with the local church.
Where are we going?
During 2018, our ministry work will take us to Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and Southern Africa. Specifically, the countries we will be in are…
Indonesia — Philippines — Vietnam — Cambodia — Thailand —
Bosnia — Kosovo — Romania — South Africa — Lesotho — Zambia
Our ministry each month will vary depending on the needs of that area. We may be working with women rescued from sex trafficking, teaching English, loving orphans, serving meals at feeding points, planting churches and many other things, all while sharing the Gospel and love of Christ with everyone that we meet. Although we may not have done a few of these things before, we know that God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. And we are expectant that He will move in big ways! (Ephesians 3:20)
During our time on the World Race, we will each be living out of a hiking pack for the year. Our team will work 6 days a week and have a day of Sabbath each week to rest, relax, or explore the local area. As a married couple, there may be a chance for us to have an additional day every two weeks to spend together and be able to have some quality time to ourselves.
Why are we going?
Back in 2013, we both felt God’s call on our lives to do missionary work abroad, and during these past few years, He has continued to remind us of our purpose and the mission He has called us to. It’s not to comfort or to an easy life. It’s to follow Jesus. It’s to go and proclaim his name all over the world. It’s to share Christ faithfully in truth and love and grace, and without any shame. We want to answer that call and follow God’s command to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). We want our lives to be fully surrendered to Jesus and to leave behind our earthly possessions and follow him. We pray that He will use us and our marriage to bring Him glory and to build His Kingdom!
For the rest of 2017, we will be focusing on preparing for this tremendous opportunity. We have a lot to do, but we are very excited. We’ll be spending this time preparing our hearts, gathering all of our necessary gear, and fundraising. In October, we’ll also be attending a 12-day training camp to further prepare us for our launch.

How can you help?
- Pray. We could not do this without prayer! Prayer is the key to successful ministry and this is no exception. We would love for you to partner with us in prayer as we prepare for the World Race as well as when we are out on the mission field.
- *Support. No matter the amount, every dollar counts! We have already saved over half of our necessary funds for the World Race and some family and friends have partnered with us as well, but we still need to raise about $2,000 before we are fully funded. We are humbly asking people to come along side us and help us raise the remaining amount that we need. All donations are tax-deductible and will be going to cover our costs for training, travel, lodging, food, insurance, and other necessities while abroad. We trust that God will provide the people we need to meet our goal, because He is always faithful and fundraising is an opportunity to experience this firsthand.
