Hi there! We are Greg and Alyssa Forsberg and we are so excited to share this journey with you! We can’t wait to see what the Lord does through this upcoming season on the World Race and how He will use us and our marriage out on the mission field.
Back in 2013, right before we got engaged, we both felt God’s call on our lives to do missionary work abroad. Once we were married, we still had that vision to share the Gospel and love of Christ throughout the nations. We knew that we wanted our lives to be fully surrendered to Jesus and our marriage to be a picture of Him. Come January 2018, we will be embarking on God’s call for us through the World Race and we couldn’t be more thankful!
A little about us…
Greg is 26 years old and enjoys playing hockey & tennis, drinking exotic teas, listening to podcasts, being outdoors, and learning new things. He also loves spending time in the Word and building things with his hands. He really enjoys his job and is currently working as a project manager at a great company in Richmond, VA. He is from New Jersey but has a strong love for Virginia ever since moving there for college in 2009.
Alyssa is also 26 years old and loves playing her ukulele, sending (and receiving) snail mail, hiking, investing in friendships, singing with the worship team at church, trying out new restaurants, and watching musicals with her sister. She works as an advertising coordinator at a Christian company and loves her job and co-workers. Since her dad was in the Navy, she spent her childhood moving around and has lived in Florida, California, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Together, we love to travel to new places as well as explore our own city, spend time with family and friends, serve our church community, and invest in our marriage.
We both met in college at the beginning of our sophomore year at James Madison University, located in Harrisonburg, VA in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Greg proposed toward the end of our senior year and once we graduated in May 2013, Greg headed to Atlanta, GA for his job while Alyssa started working in Washington, DC. Being long distance during our engagement was tough, but it definitely strengthened our relationship and we are thankful for how God used that time to prepare us for marriage. On May 16, 2015, we got married in the rolling hills of the Virginia countryside and moved to Richmond, VA to start our newlywed lives.
We know that transitioning from our comfortable lives in Richmond to a life on mission will be challenging, but we know that God has called us to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) and we want to answer that call! This journey to 11 countries in 11 months will be the most faith testing, exciting, challenging, and rewarding adventure yet, and we can’t wait to do it together with God being our strength!
Thank you for coming along beside us as we do the Lord’s work together!
