so im living here in the Philippines; San Mateo ,Rizal to be exact. I live in a small church up in the mountains and live with pastor Roland and his family and their two dogs, Otis and Snoop.
I live with 11 girls in 2 rooms but most of them choose to sleep outside in tents and hammocks so I have a room all to myself and my mess. I’ve changed completely as a person but I’ll never fail to make a mess in my room.
I wake up to eat breakfast at around 6:44am and it is usually soup of some kind and bread everyday. We start scheduled ministry at 8-9 ish and it is usually painting but in the future our schedule is changing to a spa day for the community girls, school clean up and a girls camp. For every meal we have traditional Philipino food, sometimes amazing and sometimes not my favorite but I make it a point to try and eat it because I know food is so precious here.
Internally I’ve been better, I just find a little more difficult than usual to live in extremely close proximity with people with polar opposite personalities for 5 months. I genuenly feel like I let God down a lot more than usual because of my disobedience due to my lack of trust that He is actually good and therefore everything He tells me to do wether I see it if not is also good. I’m reading this book called One thousand wells and it’s amazing and is sparking a new fire of activism in this desperate world of people in need and Christians, myself included, simply praying for them and moving on with their day when they can actually do something about it with the gifts God has given them to come alongside the overlooked and actually care about them on a personal level. AMAZING BOOK SOFAR, I’m on chapter 12 out of 26. Highly recommend.
um the showers are freezing here but showers non the less that I need to take more of because I’m always dirty at the end of everyday but I can’t bear the freezing showers sometimes. Wifi is scarce on the mountian but thank God there’s a Internet cafe close by for only 10 pesos for half an hour !! thats 55 cents. I’m also getting much better at converting money in my head, finally.
well that’s all I can think of and my one hour of free wifi is almost up at the mall I’m at right now and it’s stressing me out. Thanks for reading !!
