Things rarely go as planned on the Race, and Adventure Days are no exception to that rule.
I knew nearly nothing about Bolivia when I found out it was on my route this year. “What is in Bolivia?” “Where is Bolivia?” “Is that in Europe?” But one thing I did know about Bolivia was that it was home to Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flats in the World, and that I HAD to go there. There was no way I was going to leave Bolivia without seeing one of the most beautiful places on earth (Go Google some photos of this place guys).
Well, our team eventually made it to Uyuni, and we went “ham” with the Salt Flat tours. We booked a back-to-back evening stargazing tour and a full day tour of the flats.
Jokes on us though because there wasn’t even the smallest glimmer of a star in sight and we got a cloud-gazing tour instead. Hahaha, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time.
We didn’t have any stars, but we had the moon and the vastest expanse of beauty around us. For hours we danced in the frigid night breeze and praised our creator as the dim moonlight reflected our worship off the salty earth. And by the end we were so full.

I’m learning that sometimes it’s way better when things don’t go as planned.
