My daily life is ministry. What is ministry? Sometimes it’s easy to think that Ministry is only done on mission trips or looks a specific way, such as helping villages flooded by Tsunamis, feeding the homeless, or providing medical care to refugees. Those are all of course ministry but ministry isn’t limited to physical needs. Ministry is simply bringing God’s love into the world by being the hands and feet of Jesus. In other words, living life in a way that Jesus would have, doing the things that his hands would have done and going to places that he would have gone to.
Mi vida diaria es el ministerio. ¿Qué es el ministerio? A veces es fácil pensar que el ministerio solo se realiza en viajes misioneros o se ve de una manera específica, como ayudar a las aldeas inundadas por los tsunamis, alimentar a las personas sin hogar o brindar atención médica a los refugiados. Esos son, por supuesto, ministerio, pero el ministerio no se limita a las necesidades físicas. El ministerio simplemente está trayendo el amor de Dios al mundo al ser las manos y los pies de Jesús. En otras palabras, viviendo la vida de una manera que Jesús tendría, haciendo las cosas que sus manos habrían hecho e yendo a lugares a los que él hubiera ido.
Here’s a recap of the large variety of ministry I’ve been doing before the race and since.
At home – Teaching kids and mentoring youth at Mission Arlington. Sharing the gospel with coworkers, college students, friends and family.
Colombia – Cooking & cleaning at a drug & alcohol rehab center, reaching out to the homeless & drug addicted in some of the darkest streets.
Ecuador – Teaching English to kids and teens at a private school, befriending teachers and sharing the gospel with them.
Peru – Cooking & cleaning at an orphanage, loving the kids at the orphanage, passing out 17,000 flyers in the city for a church event.
Month 4 – Practicing English with young adults, befriending the students and answering questions they have about our faith, prayer walking in the rainy streets.
Philippines – Hosting Christmas parties at churches and villages (games & Christmas message), loving and mentoring teenage boys who were living in the streets.
Month 6 – Teaching english and building friendships with the students, answering questions they have about the Christian faith.
Cambodia – Cleaning rooms and serving breakfast at a hostel, showing God’s love to the employees, sharing the gospel to travelers in the city.
Thailand – Cutting hundreds of racer bibs, hosting a 5K support run, prayer walking in Buddhist and Hindu temples, praying through the Red light district (human trafficking: kids & prostitutes).
Ukraine – We will be helping hands on a farm as well as loving orphans and kids in abusive homes.

Colombia – Cocinando y limpiando en un centro de rehabilitación de drogas y alcohol, llegando a las personas sin hogar y adictas a las drogas en algunas de las calles más oscuras.
Ecuador: enseña inglés a niños y adolescentes en una escuela privada, se hace amigo de los maestros y comparte el Evangelio con ellos.
Perú – Cocinando y limpiando en un orfanato, amando a los niños en el orfanato, repartiendo 17,000 volantes en la ciudad para un evento de la iglesia.
Mes 4 – Practicar inglés con adultos jóvenes, entablar amistad con los estudiantes y responder preguntas sobre su fe, oraciones para caminar en las calles lluviosas.
Filipinas – Celebración de fiestas navideñas en iglesias y pueblos (juegos y mensajes navideños), amando y asesorando a adolescentes que vivían en las calles.
Mes 6: enseña inglés y crea amistades con los alumnos, respondiendo preguntas que tienen sobre la fe cristiana.
Camboya – Limpieza de habitaciones y servicio de desayuno en un albergue, mostrando el amor de Dios a los empleados, compartiendo el evangelio con los viajeros de la ciudad.
Tailandia: corte de cientos de baberos, una carrera de apoyo de 5 km, caminatas de oración en templos budistas e hindúes, oración en el distrito rojo (trata de personas: niños y prostitutas).
Ucrania – Estaremos ayudando en las manos de una granja, así como amando a huérfanos y niños en hogares abusivos.
As you can see it ranges from passing out flyers or teaching english to putting ourselves in a dark neighborhood where drugs are rampant. All of which work towards bringing God’s kingdom of love, redemption, and healing to earth. As someone who follows Jesus, ministry is my life. Not just something I clock in and clock out certain days or times in the week. So now you know what I am doing with my life. 😀
Como puede ver, va desde repartir folletos o enseñar inglés hasta ponernos en un barrio oscuro donde las drogas son endémicas. Todos los cuales trabajan para traer el reino de Dios de amor, redención y sanidad a la tierra. Como alguien que sigue a Jesús, el ministerio es mi vida. No es solo algo que enciendo y marca determinados días o momentos de la semana. Entonces ahora sabes lo que estoy haciendo con mi vida. 😀
