I’m really excited to share with you the organization that we are partnering with this month. It’s called Free Burma Rangers and they provide relief and training for Burmese people. If you’re like me and haven’t even heard of the country Burma it’s a small country next to Thailand also known as Myanmar. There has been a war going on for about 60 years and many people have forgotten about it since the media hasn’t been reporting stories or news about it for most part.
Many villages of civilians are being bombed and attacked and Free Burma Rangers send in teams to warn these villages when possible and help those they could not warn that have been caught in the war zone. They provide survival and medical training to locals. They truly are the hands and feet or Jesus boldly risking their lives to help others.
So far we are helping them prepare for a 5k race on March 10th by preparing hundreds of race bibs, taping posters, asking business to help sponsor, and we will be helping with registration and serving breakfast on the day of the 5k. The day after we are participating in the national day of prayer for Burma March 11th so mark it on your calendar to pray! I realize we are a day ahead of you guys in the states but hey that just means Burma will be prayed for both days!
Estoy muy emocionado de compartir con ustedes la organización con la que nos estamos asociando este mes. Se llama Free Burma Rangers y proporciona ayuda y entrenamiento para la gente birmana. Si eres como yo y ni siquiera has oído hablar del país de Birmania, es un país pequeño al lado de Tailandia, también conocido como Myanmar. Ha habido una guerra durante aproximadamente 60 años y muchas personas se han olvidado de ella, ya que los medios no han estado reportando historias o noticias sobre ella en su mayor parte.
Muchos pueblos de civiles están siendo bombardeados y atacados y Free Burma Rangers envía equipos para advertir a estas aldeas cuando sea posible y ayudar a aquellos que no pudieron advertir que han sido atrapados en la zona de guerra. Proporcionan entrenamiento médico y de supervivencia a los lugareños. Verdaderamente son las manos y los pies o Jesús arriesgando valientemente sus vidas para ayudar a otros.
Hasta el momento los estamos ayudando a prepararse para una carrera de 5k el 10 de marzo preparando cientos de baberos de raza, grabando carteles, pidiendo a las empresas que ayuden a patrocinar, y ayudaremos con el registro y el servicio del desayuno del día del 5k. ¡El día después de que participemos en el día nacional de oración por Birmania el 11 de marzo, márquelo en su calendario para orar! Me doy cuenta de que estamos un día por delante de ustedes en los Estados Unidos, pero bueno, eso significa que se rezará en Birmania durante los dos días.

Please pray for the guests at the hostel with us and that we’ll be able to share the heart of Jesus with them like we did last month. A small group of guys from Israel are here for the next few weeks which so I know we’ll have a great opportunity to get to know them well
