I was in a vegan cafe and I was working on a video for my church and these two men come in. They start talking and I heard one of them say “All religions are the same and go to the same place” and they continued talking about different subjects. (I know what you’re thinking-I was totally eavesdropping). But I was waiting for the perfect time to jump in and ask him about what he said. They talked for a while and I listened trying to figure out where each of them were from. They started packing up their things and went downstairs to pay and I followed them (wow, this sounds creepy).
I know the Lord allowed me to hear that particular statement that he made about religions. I know that if I hadn’t talked to these men I would have felt guilty for not listening to the Lord.
So I asked Philip where he was from and he said Denmark, and I told him I was from America and then we got over the small talk and I said so I heard you say that all religions are the same and he said “yeah I used to be Buddhist and then I was Protestant catholic and I’ve been studying religions and how people fight each other because they don’t believe the same thing.” Then he started talking about how a lot of people believe in the Big Bang theory and that there had to be something that made that happen. Then he started taking about how even in science there are so many questions. So I politely listened while thinking about why He was talking about all of these things.
Then asked Philip if he was Christian and he said yeah I’m catholic and I said okay cool and then I asked his friend George if he is a Christian and he said “yeah I’m orthodox” and I asked him if he prayed at all and he said no not really and then Philip said, “he doesn’t really believe in anything” and George said “as you get older religion becomes less important to you“ (or something of the sort). I asked Philip if he prayed and he said no. I told them I’m Christian and asked them if i could pray for then and they said sure. Before I started praying Philip said “I’ve actually got to go to my hotel to figure out my flight for tomorrow” and I was like I’ll pray for you right here quickly then and after I prayed for them they said thank you and that they appreciated that. We parted ways and hopefully they gained a better perspective of the Lord and who he is.
this is not something I would normally do and the Lord gave me the boldness to even reach out and speak to these two men.
Please be praying for these two men and their desire to know the Lord on a personal level. Also team changes are happening at the end of this month, so if you could pray for that as well I would greatly appreciate it!
