I never thought that I would end up here in Thailand living in a bamboo house with four girls that used to be strangers a little over four months ago. I never thought that living in a bamboo village in a community of Burmese refugees would feel anything like home.
I never thought I would rejoice because we had rice or a squatty potty and a bucket shower.

Obviously my thoughts have changed and here I am in Thailand about to travel to Phuket for an adventure weekend and I miss the village, the people, and the lifestyle we had there.

The Lord is allowing my thoughts to align with his and simplicity is something that stands out so much. He knows ALL things simply because he created ALL things.

-I miss waking up at 5:30 am to children rejoicing and worshiping our Savior.
-I miss being able to see all of the children helping clean the village and the school every morning.
-I miss sitting on our front porch and reading my devotionals and my Bible while watching the children pass by as they got ready for the day.
-I miss walking around the village just to get cookies
-I miss working out and getting dirt all over me because there was no clean place to exercise
-I miss worshipping with the children and seeing the joy of the Lord in their smiles.
-I miss hugs that I got from each of them after we worshiped.

I woke up one morning thinking that I was at home in my own bed. The Lord brought us to that village because He knew how special it would be. We were so welcomed and felt like we were part of the family that they had created.

“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” ??Psalm? ?62:1-2? ?NIV??
This Psalm has been on my heart while we have been in Thailand and I truly believe this is where my soul has rested so much in the Lords goodness and faithfulness!

It’s safe to say that the village in Thailand will forever have a place in my heart.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support! We are traveling to Cambodia this coming week!
