****Thank you so much to the Grabe family, for adopting the Malaysia jar, for filling it with love, notes, and protection. Thank you for all the prayers you have provided for me!****
The title says it all, Malaysia was the country I knew the least about and can honestly say I wasn’t excited for month 10. However, from the moment we got out of our taxi and came face to face with our hosts and pastor for the month I knew I had wrongly judged this country.
Thank you, Malaysia for your warmth and hospitality. Thank you for loving us so well, for allowing us into the lives of the youth and for being will to talk to the Americans!
Boys from the school we taught English and one day of Zumba at!
Sunrise over the rice fields in Langkawi.
Washed up trash from the ocean. It had been in the ocean long enough to grow algae and clams to cling on. I chose to make this photo black and white because we all know what this cup should look like. It is sad that we don’t need to use our imaginations to add color to a photo like this.
Monkeys were EVERYWHERE!! We even saw a monkey steal a woman’s wallet, open the zipper, take out the money and rip it to shreds and do the same with her passport. I felt bad, but it was funny too, the sign next to her said to watch out for the monkeys.
The ladies of Straight Outta Heaven.
Sometimes we choose not to look like World Racers.
Langkawi sunsets.
My favorite photo from the month.
We lived in the church this month, we slept on the same floor that we worshiped on, we prayed in the same chairs we sang in. We built and restored community next to the same walls we laughed by. This lion was painted by past racers who took the Pastors vision and turned it into a masterpiece. I loved looking at it throughout our month, seeing who My God was and will always be.
