Thank you so much to Sammy B’s mom for adopting my Honduras jar, for helping me grow more in love with the world. Cool fact, she brought the jar to school and her high school students filled (completely filled- far beyond anything I could have imagined) the jar in support of what I am doing. So thank you so much,

Nicaragua

We have made it to month 4 on the World Race! It’s really hard to believe that we are in our last month of Central America and we will soon be in Africa. For our final month on this side of the world (?!?) we are in Nicaragua! Specifically we are in Granada, a breathtakingly beautiful city full of Spanish history, farms and people that take hold of your heart. Granada is known for its colorful buildings because there are no street signs, the locals just know you live on this street because of a church and you are the 3rd blue house on the right. This makes it a little challenging for others to get around, I have found coffee shops and the square so I am still somewhat independent.

For the month we are living with the REAP Nicaragua team. They are a missionary couple who with their kids moved down here five years ago when they felt the call of the Lord. Since they got here, 60 acres of land have been purchased, dozens of sports teams have been created and sponsored and countless lives have been changed. The team doesn’t have a church; instead they have the goal to touch as many people as possible in as many different ways in one week.

We are so blessed to be able to partner with another team from V squad this month, Light House is here with us in Granada. So we have made a joint name of Soul House for all of us! Together we get to work on the farm 3 days a week, using machetes to clear the land, dig trenches for electricity and spend time with the farm hands. We get to go on prayer walks in the community, attend bible studies, do jail ministry, and visit the hospital. We have the opportunity to touch so many lives even though our time is short in Nicaragua.

This is a month were we get to pour into our community but it’s also a month where the community we are living in will pour into us. Our hosts Scott and Jen are deeply invested into pouring into us, making sure we are feeling the fullness of Christ in a new way. We are reading the book The Final Quest, and having a book talk. I literally just finished chapter 2 and have received so much revelation on the Holy war we are fighting and what my role is.

Lord I am ready to be filled, to be challenged and to be changed.
