Holy moly guacamole!!!!
I leave on the World Race in 4 months! 4!!!! This seems like an impossibly long time, but it also feels like it will be here before I know it. There are only 4 days left in this week; sometimes this can feel like a long time, then other weeks I only need to blink for it to be over. Beginning this journey is more than going on an adventure and traveling to far away places. This is about interacting with the world on a deeper level, it is about getting to know other people and cultures, it is about God. I want to need His love and support in order to grow, I want to learn from the people around me and I want to stop having to ‘make time’ for God in my busy life.
In Jeremiah 29:11-13, God tells us He is waiting for us, He has a plan for our lives yet this plan waits for you and me. These plans, He has made for us to prosper and give hope for the future, not to harm us. God truly has our best interest in mind. He then says, “you will call on me and come and pray to me.” He allows us to decide when we go. Well, my ‘go’ is in 4 months, I have said yes to God and the World Race. Yes to taking chances, yes to stepping out of my comfort zone and yes to live out God’s plan for me.
Verse 13 goes on to say, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” My heart has lead me to the World Race. My heart has been on board since the beginning, it was my brain and tendency to overanalyze and think rationally about this journey that caused me to fear. But with God as my intention and with Him at the center of my heart what could I possibly fear?
With 4 months separating me and my launch date I can say I am excited, I am really looking forward to witnessing the many different cultures that we will get to interact with. I am really excited to witness God’s presence and impact around the world. I am also scared, worried, curious and in awe of what God has put in my plan.
