The anticipation is over, the preparation is finished, the goodbyes have been said, it’s real now. 4 days of traveling consisting of a road trip to D.C, flight to Qatar, flight to South Africa, and finally…. A bus ride to Swaziland. We made it. For the next 2ish weeks all 51 of us will be living in Nsoko Swaziland, some of us will be sleeping in tents and others will be sleeping in two rooms together.
We arrived last Thursday night so we had a few days over the weekend to process things and catch up on some sleep. God is already doing big things here in Swaziland. The people here have been in a drought for a very long time so water is sparse. We have been praying for rain since we arrived, and a few nights ago I woke up hearing the sound of water pounding on the tin roof above me. I’ve never found so much joy in waking up to a storm. It was wild. God is so good.
The enemy is scared of the things we can accomplish with the Lord’s strength, he has already been at war with us here and many people had nightmares and felt an evil presence one night. I experienced something terrifying one night and the enemy was trying to still my peace and comfort in this place. The enemy is real and evil, But being fearful does nothing. All 51 of us came together in one room for a long night of prayer and worship. I received prophetic words that the Lord knew I needed, I had peace by the end of the night and felt even stronger than before.
God knows what we can handle and will not give us more than we can handle. He is a God of promises. All of our worries aren’t meant for us to carry around, his shoulders are ready to bare the weight of our worries and fears.
We’ve been here for 5 days and each and everyone of us have been challenged so much. It’s easy to let the little things get to you but we are continuously challenged to find the good in everything.
