In case you need some inspiration to write your own list of 23 things, here’s a few realizations/happenings/experiences from my last 9 months!
1. I’ve been to 12 (plus a few layovers and train stops) countries in the last year!
2. I found out from our host in South Africa that Buffalo Wild Wings was founded in Buffalo, NY…makes sense.
3. I watched Black Panther IN Africa.
4. I’ve seen 4 of the Big 5 on an African safari in Kruger National Park! Plus wild dogs, which are a pretty rare find!
5. I’ve been to 3 continents (Europe, Asia, and Africa).
6. I realized KFC is more popular overseas than McDonald’s!
7. Speaking of McDonald’s, I’ve craved it more in the last 9 months than I have in my whole life.
8. I learned the “Rolex” dance Month 1, and now about 80% of X Squad joins along when the song is played.
9. I read a book called Worth Living, and it is such an encouragement! Plus it’s the only one I’ve finished…sudoku > reading.
10. I laid flooring in Romania.
11. I’ve realized like never before how mighty and loving our God is.
12. I’ve fallen in love (x9)!
13. I’ve gotten to use my Excel expertise.
14. My team did the flower arrangements for a wedding in Myanmar.
15. I got lice Month 1…it’s gone, don’t worry!
16. I sent home a pair of shorts, then had my mom bring them back to me at PVT.
17. I’ve probable chopped/eaten more vegetables in the last nine months than I have in the last few years.
18. I didn’t like eggs or oatmeal prior to the Race…this trip really does change a girl!
19. When people ask what state I’m from, they usually sing “Sweet Home Alabama” (and only those three words…that’s all they usually know).
20. I’m about to go see one of the seven natural wonders of the world: Victoria Falls!
21. I’ve lived with either 4-6 other girls in community for the last nine months! The Lord is faithful and has provided much grace and patience! 🙂
22. The Lord has taught me so much about His creativity in how He created this world and His people. He truly has proven himself in His creation! It’s AMAZING.
23. I’ve spent Thanksgiving in Malaysia, Christmas in Chiang Rai, Thailand, and New Year’s in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Easter in Zimbabwe, and will be spending my birthday in TWO countries plus in an airplane!
