Happy to say that I’ve made it safely to the Dominican Republic via a 3 hour plane ride through/around hurricane irma then a nice 7 hour bus ride to follow!!! since the whole squad and myself arrived here in the DR its been amazing. We have been truly blessed with the most amazing host and host home. We are constantly surrounded by love, good meals, and a beautiful roof over our heads with a view overlooking the mountains!!

a look into a usual day: Everyday we start out doing morning devotionals on the rooftop as an entire squad+Host family, with breakfast to follow. from breakfast we all head out to do ministry as a team and so far my team has done property clean up (aka cleaning the waterfall/river and cleaning up outdoor stairs), children ministry, and prayer walks trough the community of lajas! from there we head to lunch to eat amazing food prepared by the sweetest Spanish ladies with some real cooking skills, after lunch we do weekend event planning which is usually super fun and then dinner follows that with team time to finish the night! and with any free time in between all that you can usually find me on the roof laying in my hammock 🙂

the realization of having a “home away from home” is quickly setting in and I’m still processing all those wild emotions. But so far so good! :,)) While I’m so happy to call Hope For the DR my home for this month, I also can’t wait to call Haiti my home for the next month, then Botswana for the next two months, and then South Africa for the following two, thennnn The Philippines for the next three months!!! Its totally crazy and occasionally hard to think about but I honestly am so excited. Just after 3 days of ministry that we’ve already had I can tell I’m going to absolutely love these next 9 months and they will fly by so fast! God is for sure on the move and I can’t wait to share all the stories with y’all, please feel free to subscribe to my blog to see how The Lord is moving in me and through me during these next few months.

Thanks everyone for getting me here!
