“The greatest prison people live in is the fear of what other people think.”
David Iche
Flipping through my world race journal crammed full of joys, hardships, and scraps of memories from here and there I stumbled across something I felt like I should share. So today I present to you a jumbled collage of things the Lord spoke over me one morning back in November. It was not as if God’s voice came thundering and shaking the room, but as I began to write these words, obviously not my own, seemed to come like sweet whispers into my mind.
The past few days I have spent fumbling through the Bible finding scriptures for each statement. I love how Jesus truly is the same today as he was 2000 years ago.

My darling these are the things I say of you.
You are wanted, you were chosen at the start.
(John 15:16)
Don’t cling to other’s opinions, Mine is the one that matters above all.
(Galatians 1:10)
Cut your hair even if you think it is your one beautiful thing. It is not. Pierce your nose, even if you are fearful of bringing attention to what you think of as an eyesore.
(1 Peter 3:3-4)
For I made each part of you beautiful, not ordinary.
(Isaiah 64:8)
Have fun with all I have created you to be. These are not the things that define you. This world and the things of it are nothing but a vapor.
(Ecclesiastes 1:3)
You are wanted before being known, and after all is shown, just the same if not more.
(Romans 5:7-8)
So set your standards high. I have better for you than you know. (Jeremiah 29:11)
I desire to give you unexpected joy. Joy within the most unlikely. (Isaiah 61:3)
I have not created you to know all the ugly of this world, so please do not seek out those things. I have set beauty in front of you.
(Psalms 19:11) (Job 12:7-10)
Focus on those things!
(Phil. 4:8)
There will be times you will have to face darkness, you won’t get to choose. So, in every choice, choose the brightest light and share it along your way.
(Amos 5:14) (Matthew 5:16)
Do not maintain regret. You are not capable of surpassing my forgiveness.
(John 8:1-11)
Those people who chose you, the ones you love dearly, will one day not choose you, if even for just a moment. They will let you down. Remember me in those moments. Do not put yourself in those as equally flawed as you. I am your constant. Your always faithful rock. (Psalms 62:8) (Ephesians 4:31-32)
While most of these words seem quite basic, they are the keys to my prison. These truths are what set us free from the chains of this world and allow us to live free. The Lord’s forgiveness and desire for me are concepts I will never be able to grasp fully, but I am slowly learning to accept.
I am so undeserving to know a love like this.
