So a lot of you have been asking for my letter so here you go!!

Also, cool update!! I got baptized on Sunday and IT WAS INCREDIBLE. God is so gret and so loving and I love being called a daughter of the KING!

It was incredible being able to understand fully what was happening in my baptism and what it meant in the Kingdom of God. In Matthew 3:16 John baptizes Jesus, and the Holy Spirit comes down like a dove and God claims Jesus as His son. Before that happened, Jesus didn’t do anything miraculous or divine, he lived according to God’s will. As soon as that Holy Spirit filled him with power and God identified Jesus as His son, Jesus went out and began his ministry. He healed and preached and loved everyone as God does, so if we, too, being baptized into God’s inheritance (Romans 8:17) have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, then we have access to all the power through Jesus Christ our Savior.

There is no power greater than God on this earth.

But it is so much more intimate than just calling upon God’s power on a whim. It is about building that relationship, the foundation upon The Rock. God longs for the surrender of our lives so they can bring glory to Him. He wants nothing more an nothing less than simply YOU. I am just enough and not too much for God to want all of me. God desires me to find Him in the secret place, in the marriage bed, in the garden, so he can romance me and make me into His perfect image.

God’s power is made perfect in our weakness. Surrender your life and see just how strong God is.

Hello!

As you may already know, I will be embarking on a nine month journey to five different countries as a member of the World Race Gap Year. I have felt set apart by God for missions ever since my first trip to the Dominican Republic in 2010. I returned to the D.R. two more times in the next couple of years, but ignored God’s calling and continued to focus on earthly success.

Throughout high school I devoted my life to swimming the fastest and getting the best grades. By my freshman year of college my world that I had built was crumbling down around me, and I was on the verge of letting go. But God, being the loving Savior He is, rescued me from the throes of depression and an eating disorder. I grew in my relationship with Him and began listening to that calling again. God used The Great Commission at the end of Matthew and Mark to convict me of my purpose on this earth. In Mark 16:15-18, Jesus speaks to the disciples before he ascends into heaven, urging them to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” This passage resonates within me as I recently was filled anew with the Holy Spirit and it was explained to me that I have all of the same power that the disciples had through the Holy Spirit and by the work of God in them. It brings me to my knees to even know that God will use me as a vessel for His glory.

Immediately, I began researching missions organizations and came upon Adventures in Missions and The World Race. The Lord opened all of the right doors with my application process and references. He knew that this trip will be part of my journey towards Him and towards my purpose here on earth. I owe everything to Him.

I will be leaving in September for nine months and will travel to Peru, Chile, Ukraine, Romania, and India. It is all real because the Lord, my Provider, has granted me this incredible opportunity to serve His people and further His Kingdom. I urge you to partner with me as I work alongside the Kingdom of Heaven with my brothers and sisters to reach the lost, sick, hungry, and brokenhearted. However God calls you to support this mission is more than appreciated, but above all else I ask that you pray over me and my team, as well as the countries we will be traveling to.

Along with this letter is a card with information on how to contribute monetarily. Another way to support me is through my blog: ellenellis.theworldrace.org. There you can stay up to date with what is going on with me and also have a resource in order to donate online.

Thank you and God bless!
