At a YWAM worship set the other day, the question was posed: what if there was a little bit of heaven on earth? What would it look like for you? What are those desires that the Lord has placed in your heart? Is there any reason that you, when you partner with the Father, can’t achieve them?

After the question was posed, they gave us time to create art or poems or journal about our answer. And here’s my answer! Straight outta the journal, folks!

What if heaven touched earth?

What would it look like?

What would it feel like?

In my heaven, I would see humanity restored.

I would see those deemed worthless being shown mercy.

I would see women living in hope and joy.

I would see justice delivered and freedom explode through the nations.

I would see the least of these being treated as the most worthy in the land.

I would see intimacy and compassion in the eyes of all strangers.

I would be overcome with color and beauty as people sang and danced in the streets.

I would see homes restored and families being redeemed.

I would see God’s creation live in the knowledge that, above all else, they’re beautiful masterpieces.

I would see people living without chains.

I would see people walking in the fullness of the love that they’ve received.

I would see bold, beautiful women that change their families.

I would hear bold declarations of

Loved

Seen

Chosen

Free

I would hear Jesus in the songs of everyone.

While it might seem kind of vague to some, it feels very direct and intimate to me. It’s a description of the dreams and desires that the Lord has placed on my heart.

I would encourage you today to sit with the Lord and ask him what the desires of your heart are. The Bible tells us that the Lord gives us the desires of our heart, but how are we supposed to recognize those fulfilled promises or chase after those desires if we’re unaware of what they are? Just some food for thought 😉
