Recently, I’ve gotten in the habit of asking the Lord what He thinks of me. I’ve often gotten a word, a picture or a song. It’s been super fun because I get to know all about the Lord’s creativity. I get to hear Him speak loving truths into me about who I am. Listed below are just a few of the many things that the Lord has spoken over me in the past month.

You are a dragon. When I tried to interpret this image, I kept seeing a big, fire-breathing dragon that blew destruction everywhere. I kept trying to find something positive from that image and it just wasn’t working. Finally, the Lord spoke into it and told me that was how I saw myself. I saw myself as someone that was really hard, but He saw me as a dragon from How To Train Your Dragon. I was sweet, loving, tender dragon. The dragon that just cuddles up into it’s owner’s arm.

You are redeemed and full of grace. Exodus 15:13 – “In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed.”

You are Robinson Crusoe. Yeah, what?! He told me that I was a pioneer. That I was making the way for others to follow in my path. I was showing people new depths of the Lord so that they could have the opportunity to walk in relationship with the Lord as well. Robinson Crusoe was shipwrecked, but from that, he was able to discover beautiful new places. After the Lord told me this, I went to the grocery store and found some weird canned food that was called “Robinson Crusoe”. Also, Robinson Crusoe’s island is right off of the coast of Chile.

You are peanut butter. People like you. They crave you and your time together. Just a little bit of what you have to give is satisfying. You’re a refreshing amount of goodness when things get boring. You work well with others.

You are a rose. I immediately thought of the thorns on a rose. I saw them and I wondered how they could be taken off. The Lord reminded me that I was the only one that noticed those. Everyone else saw the gorgeous, floral part of the flower before they saw the thorns. The thorns were placed there for a reason and they’re not meant to be removed.

This is just a few of the things that the Lord has been speaking into my life this month. Every day is something new and fun when you have a Lord that is as creative as our God is.
