Sunsets are one of my favorite things; amongst clouds, trees, stars, rain droplets, the moon, music, photography, laughing, and getting to know people. All of these things strike me in one way or another. For instance, clouds– how cool are clouds? Seriously? I flew through the clouds the other day and I was so taken back how truly beautiful they are. They’re like explosions put on pause. In all different shapes or sizes. My appreciation for them deepened a lot after that flight. The moon- 1,079 miles wide, 238,900 miles away from my very spot on this planet earth. Yet so consistent, in the sky whether we see it or not, the moon is always there. It varies in colors and goes through phases throughout the year, WHATttT? Photography- the art of capturing moments. Taking a memory and freezing it into a photo, everlasting tangible memories. Music- emotion made into a rhythm that effortlessly connects people and brings them together despite differences in ethnicity, gender, religion, etcetera. Laughing- googles definition is pretty good so- “make the spontaneous sounds and movements of the face and body that are the instinctive expressions of lively amusement” — I’ll just leave that there to sit with you, and I indeed challenge you to watch someone laughing with everything within them- and capture that moment in your mind because in that very moment, happiness is physically presenting itself, to you. Trees- go through seasons, like we go through emotion. Trees are sad in the winter when all of their leaves fall off, happy in the spring when flowers begin to bloom, and so on. Stars- like specks of glitter that sit in the sky, constantly twinkling. I often see stars in ones eyes when they talk about something they’ve grown super passionate about. StARs :’) Rain droplets, drip, drop, drip, drip, the sound, the refreshing feeling of tiny little droplets on your skin when you step outside into the rain. Ahh. Most people hate getting wet when it rains outside, not me. I love it. Sunsets- basically the sky is the Lord’s canvas and He may show himself in various ways, through a song, through a person, the shape of a cloud, finding $30 in the bottom of the dryer when you really needed that book of stamps to send out fundraising letters, He’s everywhere, but in the sky especially. In the beautiful colors of the sunset, creating peace and stirring up serenity in our souls. Lastly, getting to know people- getting to know their dreams, their hearts, their taste in music, getting to see their face light up when they talk about something they’re passionate about.
I love all of these things, so. much.
And I’ve provided reasoning behind each of them but the most important reason behind why all of these things matter so much to me is because the Creator of the universe made all of these things, for you and I. To admire, and to take care of and to appreciate. As a way of Him making Himself present without being so noticeable, even though these are things we see EVERYDAY. A lot of us, most of us, look past the things that have been placed in front of our faces to admire and to celebrate, for they were created by Him. We get lost in our lives, we wander too far sometimes, we let our minds go wild with every little thing from who was talking badly about you, what test is on Friday, when the next party is, we lose sight of what really matters, who truly matters and it’s Him. It’s the people He’s placed in our lives for a reason, It’s our friends and family, people we sit next to on planes and trains. I encourage you, yes you, reading this right now, to put your phone down, go outside, have deep meaningful conversation with someone you want to know. Truly know. Phones are incredible don’t get me wrong, they’re basically people, even smarter than people, but they weren’t created to replace people. I’ve come across strangers and friends whose conversations lack substance, I don’t want that for the world. I want people to talk to me face to face, tell me what you love, why? I want to know you. The Lord didn’t place you into my life to talk about people and to occasionally grab lunch with. We must go deeper. I encourage YOU to go deeper, as deep as possible, put your phone down, grab a friend and go outside, celebrate the Lord and be thankful for everything and everyone He’s put in your life. Watch the clouds, dance in the rain, admire the sunset, He didn’t do all of this for nothing, He was intentional and people look past that. Don’t be that person. Live in the moment, Love out loud, be authentic and whatever you do, don’t waste a moment. Time is of the essence and the most precious gift we’ve got other than life, and guess what? Both of those which the Lord gave you and I.
He is the artist and we are the masterpiece, He didn’t make us to sit in some closet, Oh No, we were meant to show ourselves and our colorful minds to people. To inspire and create memories, to leave our marks on the world. A footprint. The World Race. My calling. My purpose, I was meant for this. And I cannot express how excited I am that this door was opened by HIM!!! I bet you feel the excitement radiating through the phone, or the laptop you’re reading this on.
I’m thankful-Oh So thankful
I wish there was a word stronger than thankful to express my gratitude to the Lord for everything He’s done for me, my family, and friends. I’ve been blessed with I’ve been blessed with 32 best friends that I will be traveling with to spread the love of Jesus around the world, we’ve got jokes about pineapples, whale callings, ladles, and Noah, he’s our dad. I’ve got amazing, encouraging, positive soul mates with cool names like Ducky, Thyme, and Lillabea. They’re all talented, they’re real, they’ve got a fire burning passion to change lives and introduce people to the Lord. WoWowWoowW. I’ve got amazing friends here at home, Macy – a girl I know, she lives truly lives, she loves people and she’s special. Like no one I’ve ever met. Daniella my best friend, so supportive and artistic, caring and sweet. Riley, Bonnie, Macy Warner, Kylie Mckenzie, I could go on for years but I’d hate to lose your attention. I’m blessed. I’m so blessed. I’m blessed for you, reading this to even be reading this – means the world. THE WORLD. You’re awesome. I’m happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you a ton. Make today great. Look at the stars and the trees, take photos, laugh, you’re ALIVE, and you’ve got the Creator of the World on your side. Nothing can stop you.
