I have to admit this guys. Spending Christmas in Bolivia away from my family was hard. I really missed them and all the traditions we have of caroling, eating lots of very good food, spending time together laughing, opening gifts, and other things. It was a very different feeling being in Bolivia and it didn’t really feel like Christmas except for a few moments. It wasn’t different because of the weather because the weather in Florida is about the same this time of year. It was different because of that feeling of Christmas and being at home with family.
Now don’t get me wrong. I loved my time in Bolivia very much and am very thankful that I got to spend Christmas in Bolivia with those specific people. It was very special and I will never forget it. I love my friends very much!
Another factor that made this Christmas a little hard was that I was having pains in my stomach for a few days and then pain in my back one day. It was very strange and I felt like it was an spiritual attack so I had some good friends of mine pray for me and then my team mates also prayed for me and by the next day after Christmas, I was better.
I am very thankful that we had 2 guys from our squad with us this Christmas and also am thankful for the Secret Santa we did which wasn’t very secret because I figured out who got who their gifts. Anyway, it was a very special time we spent as a team together and I love it!
So this is how we spent Christmas. We had a delicious meal with everyone from YWAM on Christmas Eve. We had a lot of fun and ate very well. After that one of the guys from YWAM put on a cool magic show and then we watched fireworks and did fireworks outside at midnight. It was a fun and eventful evening.
On Christmas Day we all got to rest and call our families at home. It was so nice to FaceTime with my family and see all of them. What a blessing that was!
