Bolivia. Bolivia. Bolivia? Bolivia!!!!

I can’t believe I am in Bolivia…..It’s so hard to fathom that this is my life. We have already been here 1 week and I have already experienced so many things but let’s go back 1 week to when we left Argentina. We left on Wednesday at 3:15pm and didn’t get to our host here until 10:30pm on Friday. That’s about 55 hours of traveling on 3 buses. It was crazy! Many of us got altitude sickness because when we arrived in Bolivia, we were at an elevation of about 11,000 feet. I had a wonderful birthday on Friday with my team mates and another team from our squad. They surprised me with a cake made out of alfajores, coffee, balloons and 2 beautiful cards. I also got a very delicious and much needed fresh made green juice. It was the best! The day started out in a bus terminal and ended with us traveling on a bus for the rest of the day. I wouldn’t change it for anything!

Now back to Bolivia. We have been in Bolivia for 1 week. We are at a YWAM base again. It has been soooooo hot and the mosquitos are eating us alive. They are terrible! Last weekend, we ministered at a church on Saturday and Sunday. We went out evangelizing and passing out flyers 2 times each day. On Saturday night, we led a women’s church service where Wendy gave her testimony and then I gave mine and gave a message to the ladies, all in Spanish. I hope they understood what we were saying. Then on Sunday, we went out again in the neighborhood and led a service in the evening for everyone. Grace gave her testimony and Carolyn gave a message. It was very exhausting but it all went great!

This week was very special for me. For 3 days, we went to an orphanage for special needs children. It was absolutely incredible! I‘m so glad we got to go more than 1 day, because we got to the know all the different personalities of the children and also got to connect with some of the staff. I will never forget those days and, Lord-wiling, I will be back there. I pray that God would continue to bless all those children and continue to protect them and guide their lives. I’m very thankful for the people who take care of all those children. They do such a great job and I can tell they really love those kids. It was very hard to leave and know that I may never see them again….I left with tears in my eyes, but God knows, and maybe I will see them again.

We’ve also had a lot of fun here. We hand-washed our clothes and then hung them out to dry……..and then……..it started pouring rain. Honestly, we couldn’t complain about it because it was so hot, the rain was a huge relief. So what did we do? We ran out into the rain and were dancing in the rain. It was so fun! I’m so thankful that our whole team loves to have fun and doesn’t take life to seriously. Life is short and I believe we should enjoy every moment, good or bad. Every minute we are on this earth is precious and should not be wasted. Enjoy your life, everyone, you only get one. Make the most of it.

Prayer requests: It’s really hot here so please pray for a little relief. The mosquitos are so many and some of our team are having allergic reactions to their bites. Please pray for relief for them. There is Malaria in this area so please pray against that and for health for our team. Also pray for God to continue working through us and that we will make an impact for His Kingdom while we are here. We have a full schedule so pray for God to give us energy, endurance and strength. The heat is making us tired. It really zaps the energy out of us but we are pressing forward and can’t wait to see what God has planned for us the rest of this month.
