Hey there! My name is Claire. Let me tell ya a little bit about me and how my life got flipped- turned upside down. In Lexington, KY born and raised, at school and dance I spent most of my days. Chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool…all right that’s enough of that. I am currently a freshman at Mars Hill University where I am majoring in Zoology and hope to eventually do something with conservation or become a high school biology teacher, I’m not really sure. I’ve been out of the country a few times, but never without the comfort of my family. My dad took me on my first mission trip a little over two years ago to Guatemala and ever since then I’ve felt a calling for mission work. So here I am!

God has been doing some pretty fancy things in my life and was pushing me to take a leap of faith. I can do real leaps, like in dance, but this leap of faith was something I wasn’t so sure about. After a couple months of wrestling with God and myself, I began applying to the World Race and by the fact that you are reading this right now, I was accepted! I will be serving for nine months in Romania, Ukraine, Chile, Peru and India! I am so very excited to see how God is going to use me in ministry over these next nine months and leading up to the race to show people his radical love and grace.

So we get to know each other even better, here are some fun facts about me:

  1. I strongly believe that cats are God’s greatest creations; big cats, little cats, Kentucky Wildcats, they’re all purrrfect 🙂
  2. Smiley faces are my go-to.
  3. I’m going on a mission trip to Alaska in May and I’m so pumped about it!
  4. I attend Southland Christian Church and the 608 service is my favorite because they serve cereal after the service is over.
  5. I love drinking tea, doing yoga, hiking, the color green, and playing with animals. I wonder if I can sneak my dog on the race with me?
  6. Acai berry bowls from The Weekly Juicery are my favorite things ever and I wish I could eat them everyday, but I’m ballin’ on a budget. I also eat yogurt and granola like it’s going out of style.
  7. I post a lot of really funny animal videos on Facebook, check them out.
  8. Ultimately, I can’t wait to serve God and people and spread his never-ending, unwavering love all around the world.
