Hey, everyone, I know that I’ve been really bad at posting blogs and I apologize for that. I just wanna write about what God has been teaching me and showing me through this new ministry that He has us at. This month we are having a month of “Manistry.” This just simply means that we’re spending a month doing ministry as just the guys on our squad. We all moved six hours away from where we were doing ministry to a place the province of Kampong Thom, Cambodia.
We are Currently volunteering at a little school and some are helping out with the English teaching and others are working on creating a foundation for a new playground. In the evenings we are all going to different churches and houses to teach some more English to some of the local kids. With all of this going on we have found it to be full and very busy days.
Having such a busy schedule makes us have to create time to intentionally spend time with God, and in His word. In just two days of ministry, I have been able to see the difference spending time with God makes opposed to not spending time with Him. I haven’t been able to wrap my head around the idea that somehow God (who I cannot tangibly feel or see) is able to give me life and energy to keep going. Somehow being in God’s word and spending time worshipping Him changes the way I feel. I truly believe that spending time with the creator of the universe and glorifying his name helps me to focus on what He wants and not on what I want. I have learned that when I try to do what He desires I am able to complete it with more energy and enthusiasm because He is there helping me. When I try to do what I want, I become so much more tired and it usually ends up not bringing life to those who are around me.
I have been privileged with seeing the fruits of seeking out God in the men that are around me every day. These men are God fearing, loving, passionate, humble servants of God. Being able to witness the devotion and passion that they serve with is so incredible to witness. I know it’s not even been a week with just us guys but these guys have already faced all of the ministry opportunities head-on. I have seen these guys step up to the plate with different ministry’s that we have been allowed to do and have complete faith that God will be with them through it.
If I had one word to describe this group of men it would be “BOLDNESS.” They keep calling me and one another up to being better men of God and are always seeking out opportunities to be light and share the Good News. I have seen first hand the power of spending time with God and in His word, through myself and through the awesome men I have been able to serve with.
