As launch gets closer I am beginning to realize that I will be gone for nine months away from my parents, siblings and all my friends here at home. So for this blog, I decided to write things about each one of my family members who are near or at home.
First off my dad. He is one of the Greatest men of God anyone will ever meet. He has been an amazing example for me and Jed to follow. His willingness to follow God wherever he leads him and his family is absolutely honorable. He, along with my mom, has done his best to teach all of us kids what is important in life and that we are made to glorify God in all that we do. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for me.
Second up is my mom. Mom is the person that will sit down and do whatever it is I like just to spend time with me. She has been my #1 supporter my whole life. She was always there for me when I was struggling in school or when I would get sick and she was always there when I just had to get stuff off my chest. Mom was the one who told me about the World Race. This shows me that she cares more about God’s kingdom being furthered than me staying at home. I know she is my mom but she is also one of my closest friends. I love you, mom!
The third member is Ahava. We are only twenty-one months apart in age so we have always been close. Havi is one of those people that will bring life into the room every time. It doesn’t matter where you are or who you’re with and she will lighten the mood. She has never been scared of telling me when I’m wrong and even pulling scripture out to show me some things. I am truly proud to call Ahava my sister.
Fourth is Kimmie. Words cannot describe how I feel about leaving Kimmie. It hurts every time I think about the last day I get to see her and the four goons she calls her kids. She is special and an incredible example of what it means to cling to the Father. She has shown me how sweet it is to have an intimate relationship with God. She is also the person that I can go to and I know we will always have a good laugh. Our friendship is one of those that will last forever no matter how far apart we are.
Last but not least Juanca, Brittany, and baby Isaac. I am so happy I got the chance to live with both Juanca and Brittany for a period of time. Even though they are blood-related they are definitely considered siblings. I love them so much because they are a prime example of what it means to fight for each other. I love the both of you so much.
I know these were short paragraphs about them and I could have gone one for pages about each one of them, but this is just to show you how much they mean to me. Leaving my family is going to be one of the hardest things I am going to have to do in my life.
On the bright side, though I am so thankful that they are very supportive of me going to the World Race. The best thing about my family is that they have pushed me because they know what God has called me to do and that is to go out into every nation and spread His fame and I am honored to be called by God to further his kingdom. Now, this isn’t going to make the goodbyes any easier but it will make my journey out there easier because I know they will be praying and supporting me in every way possible. I love my family so much and I thank you for reading this and I thank you in advance for your prayers.
