This table probably looks like not much more than a collection of things messily strewn across a surface

And really thats exactly what it is, and yet it is so much more

This table houses books, bags, technology and even almost clean purple socks

This table also houses deep secrets and tears, both dropped onto journal pages early in the morning and late in the night and almost every time in between

This table holds Bibles filled with quickly scribbled margin notes and long winded sermon thoughts, sometimes on the same page but different dates

This table has heard joyful cries and broken dreams, just in the space of two weeks that have gone by far too quickly

This table has friends who gather around it to catch up on a long day, and still take the time to ask “how can I pray for you today?”

This table has seen the planning of websites, editing of pictures, creation of sermons, formation of newsletters and creation of lesson plans for kids who are desperately learning how to read

This table has seen friends cry together because 8 months away from normality is a really long time and a really short time all at once

This table has heard reminiscing about past days on the race and fears about the days coming when the World Race will only be a beautiful memory

This table is a meeting place, a sacred place, a safe place, a messy place, a friendly place – a place where you can find a little piece of home, even when it is really far away

Go find a table and some people and enjoy every second of your time around it with them. In 3 months, they may be on the other side of the world to you, and you may miss these days of messy tables a whole lot.

Love,

C xo
