Honestly, fundraising has been super hard for me. It is so hard for me to ask people for money to support me. I have worked and earned money since I was 15, and pretty much supported myself since then with the wonderful help of my parents. The World Race is something I truly felt the Lord calling me to, believe me I would not have chosen to leave everything I love for a whole year, it is SO much more comfortable to stay at home! But obedience to the Father is a core part of this crazy journey we call Christianity, and $17,700 was the price attached to this God given dream.
I have self funded the vast majority of this by working every hour I could in the run up to leaving and holding fundraising events to help. I have been so challenged in my Spirit since coming away though to ASK my family and friends to help me meet the last part of my deadline. I genuinely feel sick writing a blog to ask people for money, but the Lord is prompting me so hard to do it, because He knows there are people around me who want to support the Gospel being spread to the corners of the earth, & others who just want to give because they love and support me.
By the end of next month my fundraising has to be complete so that I can continue on this journey of The World Race. Have you thought about donating but haven’t had the time to? Or have been waiting to? Or maybe this is the first time you have considered it.
In 3 John 3 5-8, the Bible says;
“Dear friend, when you extend hospitality to Christian brothers and sisters, even when they are strangers, you make the faith visible. They’ve made a full report back to the church here, a message about your love. It’s good work you’re doing, helping these travelers on their way, hospitality worthy of God himself! They set out under the banner of the Name, and get no help from unbelievers. So they deserve any support we can give them. In providing meals and a bed, we become their companions in spreading the Truth.”
