Hi friends.

I appreciate many of you may have questions regarding my upcoming trip – I did too! Months of prayerful thinking and research went into this trip so I thought for my first official blog post I would answer some of those questions.

1. Why on earth are you blogging?!

Ha, my first question reading this would be the same. I have never been a writer, or ‘blogger’, so I am fully aware of my limitations in this skill! However, as part of our mission work we believe that sharing what we are doing is essential. We want to be real and honest in showing the work we are doing is God led, important and life giving. We want to encourage you at home to support these ministries around the world by praying for them or even getting involved yourself.

2. What is Adventures in Missions?

ADV is a missions organisation that year round sends out missionaries to countries all across the world. Since founding in 1989 they have sent out more than 100,000 people into the mission field! They are a non-profit organisation based in Georgia, USA.

3. What is The World Race?

The World Race is a specific mission trip planned and overseen by Adventures in Missions. This trip specifically travels to 11 countries in 11 months, ministering to ‘the least of these’ while living amongst real & raw community. Each month the work we complete depends on what is needed most in that community; whether that be teaching, construction, evangelism, street ministry, working with children & teenagers or working with women in the human trafficking industry. Literally WHATEVER it takes to show the love of Jesus to a world in desperate need of a little more hope & joy.

4. Where & when?

January 2018 – Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, India, Nepal, Belize, Nicaragua, El Salvador & Guatemala.

5. Why?!

If you’ve read my ‘About Me’ tab you will have seen a brief introduction to this already. I am in a place in my life that I could have just continued to move forward both career wise and personally, but God was calling me away from that and I knew I had to respond. The WR came into my path around 18 months ago and I couldn’t get it off my mind, so when the January 2018 routes came out I had to apply – & here I am! I am confident this is where God is leading me and I can’t wait to see what He has in store.

6. How much will it all cost?

This trip is going to cost $17,700 (£14,600) which will cover flights, accommodation, food, training camp, ministry costs & insurance costs for the 11 months. As a UK participant, I will also encounter further costs from travel to and from camp and launch in the US. My aim for this trip is to pour as much of my own resources into this as possible from working, and by fundraising the extra.

7. I want to support you, how can I do this?

Leading question eh? Ha.

I hope some of the above questions and answers have made things clear for you, please let me know via this blog or any of my social media outlets if you have any further queries! If you are feeling called to support me, either financially or in prayer, I would absolutely love to hear from you. Both forms of support will be absolutely crucial for my year away.

Here’s how you can support me financially:

1. ‘Donate!’ – There is a donate tab on the left hand side menu of this blog, simply click there and follow the instructions. You can choose to become a one time donor or a monthly donor!

2. Cheque – Enquire with me if this is how you would prefer to give!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my first official World Race blog! Stick with me, I’ll hopefully get better. Please subscribe for updates 🙂

Upcoming fundraising events hopefully won’t be too far away!
