This month our squad just had team changes and my team is now Team Legacy. Our team is made up of the rest of the team. This month we are in Nepal, which is a closed country. This month is also our ATL (Ask the Lord) month. This essentially means that we have no set ministry host and, as a team, we pray and ask God where He wants us for the month. This means that, Lord willing, we have thousands of open doors for us to go wherever He leads us to share the Gospel. It is an incredible opportunity for us having the opportunity to share the Gospel with everyone we encounter on a daily basis while simply doing life here in Nepal. We have the opportunity to share the Gospel with hundreds of people who have probably never heard it before. To put it in perspective, “Nepal is comprised of 275 people groups. Out of those, 266 are considered unreached; 96.7% of Nepalese have never heard the gospel.” And we get the opportunity to share it with them.
One desire that was placed on the heart of our team is to look into trekking options and be able to witness to hikers on the trail with us, our hiking guide, and the people in the villages that we will pass through. Psalm 37:4 tells us “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” By delighting in the Lord and giving all the glory to Him, we are confident that God will fulfill this dream that we have. One thing that we decided as a team was: if we are going to have a dream to trek and share the Gospel with everyone we encounter, we are going to dream BIG. We want to dream big so that we know that the glory goes to whom it is rightfully due. We want to dream big so that we know that we could never have had this experience without God blessing it every step of the way. Ultimately, ALL the glory will go to Him.
Now that all the buildup and suspense is in place… let me share this dream that we developed as a team. Our dream is to go trekking through Tsum Valley. “Tsum Valley was a restricted area until it was opened for trekking in 2008 and there is a little information available on the area.”

The Tsum Valley is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage valley situated in northern Gorkha, Nepal. This valley is comprised of two remote villages called Chumchet and Chhekampar. The local people in this area are mostly of the Tibetan origin and speak a unique dialect. Most of the people in this area are Buddhist. Due to the Tsum Valley’s remoteness and inaccessibility, this sacred valley and its people have been bypassed by mainstream development for centuries. As a result, the unique culture of this valley has remained intact. As Team Legacy, we believe that God has both placed us here and given us a heart for this area for a reason. Our desire is to leave a legacy here in Nepal, with these people groups, that points to the love of Jesus
