My friend on the other team we’re living with, Grace Crespo, asked me some questions tonight for my blog. Enjoy ! ! ! 🙂
1. describe shoshanguve in 3 words
dark, corrupt, desperate
2. who is the most memorable person i’ve met on the race so far?
patrick– he’s our neighbor here. he led a battalion of over 500 people at age 16 against the government in South Africa. He said he was the only one who properly knew how to shoot a rifle so they made him the head guy. He was in prison for 8 years, with Nelson Mandela and Jacob Zuma. He also completed college while in prison and became the distribution manager for a huge American pharmaceutical company here.
3. choose a fruit of the spirit and say what fruit it would actually be
i think if faithfulness was a fruit it would be bananas. they’ll always taste good and always be at the grocery store.
4. if you could choose what you would write on your tombstone what would it be
right now it would probably be something stupid like “you gotta work a little so you can ball a lot” -tom haverford, parks n rec. or see ya on the flipside.
5. what is the worst/funniest what are the odds you’ve lost on the race
one time Lucie, my leader, was soaking her infected foot in green tea to heal it. i lost what are the odds and had to drink the tea that had her foot in it. definitely got a good full of dirt and her foot skin.
6. if you were to describe your old self in a piece of clothing what would it be and what food would you want to be by the end of the race
my old self as a clothing item: probably like an early 2000s sparkly graphic tee.
what food i want to be by the end of the race: a lava cake
