3, 5, or 8…
I see just a FRACTION of the things God is doing.
Do you realize that?
That you do not get to see what God is doing on a regular basis unless you get your butt out there and ask to hear peoples stories and share your own?
.
This year has been a collage of stories colliding.
I have been SO privileged to see fractions of what God is doing as I travel all across the States and interact with people on the streets, in churches, and in their homes.
It has been unbelievable and amazing – even when I have felt low and crappy God has still been showing me that he is working.
.
We do not get to see it all!
There’s nothing we can do to see it all.
We are not infinite enough.
But we do get to see glances and fractions and crumbs.
.
There are moments like this week – random nudges to pray with people and mostly seeing people willing to pray with me/ let me pray with & for them – and it’s been so encouraging.
Encouraging to see them respond with sharing what they need prayer for.
Encouraging to have a man kneel down with me in order to intercede for his wife.
Encouraging to have people say “How did you know that? Jesus had to tell you!”
Encouraging to see peoples tears after a prayer and receive vice hugs from them as they whisper, “Thank you! thank you so much!”
Every time God uses me I feel this relief and overflowing excitement.
Relief that I am being used by God!
Excitement that I am being used by God!
.
EVERYTHING I have been doing this year is possible for you.
I know you think that what I am doing is amazing and “wow” and that I have so much courage etc.
I’ve heard it from people over and over and over.
“WOW! You’re so brave! I could never do what you’re doing!”
I’ve heard this sentence so many times it makes me sick.
.
YOU CAN DO IT!
When you’re grocery shopping and notice that Mom with her hand over her face for a brief second as she musters courage to finish her shopping, instead of sending up a silent prayer, or trying to help her out by telling her kid to “listen to your mom!”, or judging her use of tone with her kid –
Why not ask her if you can pray for her?
“Hey, I noticed you’re having a hard time. Can I pray for you?”
When you notice that person putting something back…Why not buy it and chase them down in the parking lot and gift it to them?
When you see that old lady empty her cart in the parking lot, why not ask her if you can put her cart back for her?
When you see that homeless guy watching people come out of the gas station – why not grab a gatorade and sandwich and give it to him and ask him if he could use some prayer?
.
JUST ASK
.
It is as simple as that.
Then let God do the rest.
.
.
.
Stop telling yourself all the little lies the devils already whispered.
Stop coming into agreement with him about yourself, your situation, your abilities.
Stop.
JUST ASK.
JUST BE OBEDIENT.
JUST BE WILLING.
Right where you’re at.
You don’t have to go anywhere special.
You can change everything right where you are with the simplest step of faith.
Then see what God does.
