A friend reached out to me this week and told me that I have 40 days left in this season, and to make them count.

This season.

How is this season already almost done?

It got me thinking about seasons in general and how we are constantly wishing the current season away to get to the next season.

Whether it’s the season of singleness to the season of marriage.

The season of praying for your friend to know the Lord to your friend living their life for Christ.

The season of unknown to the season of known.

The season of Rwanda to the season of Bolivia.

Our life is full of seasons and we are constantly wishing them away.

But there is such beauty in seasons.

Such beauty in taking in the present and choosing to embrace the conversation with your mom even if you don’t feel like talking, or embracing the dinner with your family instead of going to your phone, because God is speaking in the gentle whisper.

He’s not just speaking in the big things like healings and miracles, but He’s speaking in the little conversations, the little meals, the little games of basketball, the hikes on the way to the waterfall.

It’s hard for me to see the beauty sometimes. Especially when the season is painful, or seems pointless to my small human perspective.

But I promise that He is in the waiting. He is in each season.

I have 36 days left in this World Race journey. How many days do you have left in your current journey that you’re going to make count?

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

Don’t give up. Keep pressing into the season you’re in.

Be patient, therefore, my brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. (James 5:7-11)

Establish your heart, steady your heart, remain steadfast.

For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations. (Isaiah 61:11)
