So I don’t know about you, but while I was growing up during the Christmas season there was always this thing at my church called operation Christmas child. Where samaritans purse would provide boxes, and you would then fill them with toys and different hygiene products for a boy or girl and they would then intern send them to who knows where to some child in Africa. For me atleast that always seemed so outlandish, I couldn’t quite understand it.
But that was my perception at the time…
That was until.. I actually was able to
Pass them out myself. So a few weeks back, My team and I got to bless over 400 kiddos with the shoeboxes, And It was such a fun day, and the kids were so filled with joy. It may of been not Christmas by date, but to Them it was a big deal. It warmed my heart to see all the kids get little toys and just simple things like tooth brushes or paper and be so happy and grateful.
A little boy I remember had a toy snake in his box, and he thought it was real and he dropped his box and was screaming! We had to reassure him that it was fake, but It was just really funny.

And When we passed out the boxes, we called the kids names and each time a kids name was called and they came up to receive the gift, they bowed down in thankfulness.
We were able to share a a few bible stories with the kids, and pray over them all.
It was honestly such a sweet day to be able to bless these kids. And it just makes me think of the kids in America who would turn there nose up if they got that as a present.
Our kids in America have so much, and yet there are so many over here with so little, but They are content with the little they have, and it inspires me all the more to be content with what I have as well.
On another note, I encourage you to fill boxes when Samaritans Purse comes to your community or church. Because the joy these kids had receiving these shoe boxes was a sight I’ll never forget.
As usual, my connection here in Africa and blogs is terrible, so I’ve been updating my facebook mostly on things going on. But I’m doing well! I was sick for a few days with some nasty parasites, but I’m feeling great now! A few of my squad mates actually got malaria, so I would appreciate the prayers for them. But other than that I’ve been well. I leave for Ecuadar today! I lived in a tent for 90 days straight, and although I’ve been taking bucket showers and smell.. the Lord is good! Also check out my new team for the next 3 months 🙂
Love you all,
I’ll try to write more
