This past month, we got the opportunity to serve with a church plant in Cusco, Peru called La Semilla. The church was planted a year and a half ago, and we got so many sweet opportunities to serve our hosts and help with their ministries. The church’s mission is to bring the community together and teach them about what it looks like to follow the Lord wholeheartedly.
This month truly seems like a blur. It was hard and good, which seems to be the answer for how things are going a lot of the time. I am walking through a lot of hard things and hard places, while simultaneously learning what it looks like to accept unconditional love from the Father. Something that I don’t deserve, but I can freely receive regardless.
Our time this month was fruitful. As a team of women, we are learning what it looks like to step into a space where we can accept that we truly are Radiant Daughters of the Most High King, and figure out what it looks like to walk in that truth.
It is crazy to me, because 11 months quickly turned to 10, which has quickly turned to 9, which has now quickly turned to 8. The days go slow and the months go real, real fast.
These are the top ten things I learned in month three:
- A daily routine isn’t a bad thing until it becomes solely going through the motion. I spent most of this month checking things off of a metaphorical list, and missed out on so much community and many lessons from Abba.
- We weren’t created for isolation. We were created for community, to be the church, to let others love us and love others in the same way.
- Your people are going to be in your corner regardless of if you want them to be or not. They will choose you even when you think they won’t. This is a good thing.
- Quiet time with the Lord isn’t uniform. It looks different for so many people, and that is okay. I am learning what it looks like to create space for the Father, instead of putting Him into my box of the stereotypical quiet time.
- Choose joy, even when you don’t want to.
- Community is hard, but community is good. Let people call you higher, they want to help you, not hurt you.
- The Lord has a sweet plan for me and for you. He has gone before us and prepared the way for us.
- Sharing stories brings freedom, regardless of how scary it can be, because it brings light to the dark.
- We don’t need to feel guilty because of our past. Guilt breeds shame and shame is the enemy’s favorite place to do work.
- Free people free people. Healed people heal people.
Month 4 is already in full swing and there are so many sweet stories to be shared !!!
So much love,
Car
