Happy New Year and welcome to my first blog post! Fair warning, this could get bumpy so buckle up!

First off I must tell you that I am humbled. I can’t believe I am writing you about the incredible opportunity before me. The opportunity that both thrills and terrifies me. Slowly but surely it is sinking in that I will, in fact, spend my first year out of college as a missionary to 11 countries. I will travel away from everything that is familiar, safe, and normal; trading them in for places far out of my comfort zone. I will be living and working with churches, ministries, and non-profits located in communities found in Asia, Africa, and South America. This is terrifying but it is also so incredibly exciting. I say I am humbled because I can’t believe that this is the next step God has for me. That little ole me will be strapping on a 70 liter pack to travel the globe and share the most precious thing I have…Jesus. I will be blessed with the opportunity to meet and love on people around the world from all walks of life. I will become immersed in community and be the hands and feet of Jesus. Let me be clear, this is not a backpacking vacation meant to see the world, learn a few things, and travel home with a few cool stories to share. No, this is going to be the hardest thing I’ve ever done. This will take me to dark places around the world that are desperate not only for the hope of the gospel but for basic needs to be met. This will expose me to people who have lost it all and to the people who never had much anyway. Sure I may see an elephant in Thailand, but I will also look in the eyes of human trafficking victims. Yes, I will stand beneath Mt. Everest in Nepal, but I will also stand with children living in the slums. Happily I will go to Machu Picchu in Peru, but I will also go and build orphanages there for children left abandoned. I thankfully will not be doing this alone. I will be with a team who shares the same goal: to meet people where they are, build the church, create disciples, and make Heaven more crowded! Can you think of anything more exciting than that?

We are all pieces of a bigger picture. I am thrilled to be one sent out into the world. The countries my squad and I will be living and ministering in are: India, Nepal. Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and Colombia. To do this, I will need support. Please consider partnering with me by sending up prayers, telling people you know, and by giving financially as a one time or monthly partner. The $17,617 needed to cover all travel, food, and stay must come from supporters. Not to be cliché but every dollar counts! All donations are tax deductible (woo hoo!) and can be made on this website, carladunn.theworldrace.org or by mailing in a check (information listed below). I will continue to update this blog through our launch date the first week of August, 2017! After launch, these blog updates will get even more interesting as I travel to my first country, India!

I pray your New Year is full of hope and joy and that 2017 brings many blessings. Thank you so much for your consideration, donations and most importantly, your prayers.
