The Fog
The fog is an illusion-
a master of disguise,
which hides the tangible
before our very eyes.
But when the fog has lifted
everything’s still there,
and the tangible.
Only seemed to’ve disappeared.
In the early morning
or late at night,
the fog descends
upon various sites.
It gives an air of mystery.

Yesterday, I woke up early in the morning and went to sit out over this beautiful view of the lake we have next to our guesthouse here in Nepal. It was one of those mornings where the sun had been coming up over the mountains and the fog was so evident, but the sky was still grey. Looking past all the fog, the lush and green forests upon the mountains were so green and full of color. Not to mention Maya, who is our guesthouse dog, and the cutest little stray dog right beside me named Sweetie, watched the atmosphere with me. While I was sitting here, I had a few realizations. The fog is something we often ignore as humans. Of course it hides even the biggest of things, but also when you just simply watch the way it uncovers all the beauty, I am constantly reminded by how the Lord never stops revealing His beauty to me. He created the mountains to be so immaculate, so neat and full of tidiness. He placed each of them so purposefully and made no mistake of where they are individually. In the Bible, mountains are described as “mighty”, “solid rock”, “holy”, etc. These words sound familiar don’t they? A God that is really creative and unique created mountains to be just like Him and formed just how he wanted them to be.
Also, the Lord does not make a single mistake in His creation and I am constantly reminded these past 9 months about how he made the nature entirely different in every little spec of land. The fog is definitely something else that the Lord has allowed me to see. He never forgets to reveal the good things to us in his timing. The fog lifting up in the morning sunrise created this sense of peace and mystery in this life. Also, while I was sitting here realizing these realities, the Lord really spoke into me and reminded me that no matter where I am or where I will be going, he will always show me and surprise me with His creation and mankind. Even just around the corners in life, the surprises He brings to me is always so exciting and so beautiful. God is a solid father and He is so mighty and believes that when we have the faith to seek His glory and His beauty every single day, we will be in awe of His works and the way He moves in us and through us.
