Hey everyone! For some of you who know (or don’t know), I got a tattoo! over the past few years, I have really wanted one. But honestly I never would have thought I would end up with one after month one of the World Race. You know what’s really cool? God works in crazy and awesome ways. SO here’s the story!

So starting with the beginning of the race, everyone on every squad got keys with different words on them. My key says “trust” on it. When I first received it, I wasn’t entirely sure what it meant to me. For days I tried to seek the Lord and ask him what he really meant by giving me this key. Days later, my squad and I got the opportunity to travel to Greece as a fun little trip! Little did I know, I was going to get one missing piece to this key. One day, we were aloud to go cliff jumping, crazy stuff right? But, as I was swimming, my key got kind of tight on my neck. I was a little worried since I couldn’t even touch the ground and had to adjust my necklace. I went to grab and pull it loosen it, and it broke! So I was like “OH NO! OH SHOOT! MY NECKLACE!” But I wasn’t ready for what was about to happen. I heard the Lord speak to me that day and say “Hey it’s going to be okay but you need to reach for that key and just ‘trust’ in me.” I said “You what Lord, you’re so right!” I reached and grabbed the key just in time before it was too far for me. I legit couldn’t get past the fact that the Lord used my key falling in the deep waters to just trust in him.

Moreover, once month one was done, we traveled to Brasov, Romania for this really cool thing called debrief. Debrief is a time of reflection and a time to look back at the past month(s) and see how God’s been moving. One of these days, the 6th of October to be exact, I had the Lord speak to me again. I was casually chilling out in this awesome basement in a really cozy hammock. (I know a hammock inside? super cool). So as I was laying here, I really wanted to journal and read my Bible. Mind you, I was the only one sitting in this room. I opened my journal and started writing, but then realized I don’t know what to read in my Bible. So naturally, I went straight to the Bible app on my phone to the “Verse Of The Day”. The verse of the day was Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart  and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Then it HIT me. Like literally HIT me. I thought to myself, “I need this tattooed on me”. Also, realizing that, I remembered my key says “trust” on it. How stinkin’ cool. Also! I hear this verse around my house a few times (hey mom) and continues to encourage me in my faith. Like literally trusting in the Lord with everything I have and he like actually sets my path right in front of me. So good. Also, for those who are wondering, my tattoo did not hurt at all and I love it so much. I stuck with a cheap, simple and fast design with roman numerals like “III:V-IV” which translates to the verse Proverbs 3:5-6. Isn’t it amazing how God uses art and tattoos to tell an awesome story for the years to come?

P.S. continue to keep my team of 6 all in your prayers as we move on to month two of our race! Thank you!
