Day 5/365

If I were to say that 2016 ended badly, I would be lying to you. 2016 was a year full of learning, growth and relationships for me. I have made such amazing friends throughout this year, got more involved in my youth group and even ate noodles with hot sauce. I have found many people saying how bad their 2016 was, but why focus on the negative when you could be focusing on the positive. I can find myself thinking negatively and down, but in the end why should I? I literally have the father of creation above me and protecting me, guiding me and loving me. It amazes me everyday that he is there for me in my times of trouble, my times of anger and my times of impatiences. I have been blessed beyond measures this past year and everyday I feel like I am getting one step closer to him and glorifying his kingdom everyday. As i continue with this year, I would love to publicly tell you all or whoever is reading this, about my aspirations/goals for this year! One thing i believe in is being able to be vulnerable. Vulnerability allows for people to understand you more on a deeper level and a better understanding of my heart! So here are just a few of my goals I would like to achieve:

GOALS:

  • Getting all the money and equipment I need for this trip. “My God shall supply all you needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19
  • Use the gifts God had given me, everyday, to glorify him. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful steward’s of God’s grace in its various forms.” – 1 Peter 4:10
  • Keep a positive mindset/look for the good in all things.“A happy heart has a continual feast.” – Proverbs 15:15
  • Switch over to being vegetarian (this is mostly to just better my health and stick with eating veggies, fruit and grains!) “… Eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.” – Isaiah 55:2
  • Take pictures of everywhere I go while still being in the moment. “Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.” – Esther 4:14
  • Try ice cream in each country I go to. (sadly no Bible verses on ice cream).
  • Lastly, dig deeper into God’s word by journalism and reading the Bible constantly. “Seek the Lord and live.” – Amos 5:6

I know yes these can seem very cheesy, but trust me, if I am just being stagnant with my Christianity, am I really getting closer to God or glorifying him? I want to see this year be totally awesome and make it one of the best ones yet! Also, I would like to thank my parents for supporting me as much as they have been and definitely still asking everyone for even a simple prayer for my journey this year!

P.S. If you have any camping/hiking supplies that you do not use feel free to contact me!
