Meet our first Unsung Hero contact: Pastor David and his wife, Wong.
Within the first week of being in Cambodia we were told about Pastor David. We then got in contact with him and scheduled a meeting to met with Pastor David and his wife. We talked about their ministry here and how the Lord brought them to Cambodia. We then shared with them our journey to the World Race and what God was doing in our lives through this crazy thing called the World Race. We discussed what a future partnership would look like and even listened as Mrs. Wong day dreamed about future ways a world race team could help their ministry.
Pastor David and his wife are from Malaysia. Several years ago Mrs. Wong had a vision from God. God was calling her and her husband to Cambodia. They did not know why or what they were going to do, but they sold everything and left, full of faith, to follow God’s lead. They started a church in Cambodia, where David pastors. They also work in the local villages, teaching kids who are too poor to go to secondary school. They house two kids at their home, giving them an education and sharing Jesus with them. They dream of helping more kids in the local villages, to further their educations and to show them Christ.
These are TRUE Kingdom Shakers, World Changers, and Unsung heroes.
They left everything they knew, for the unknown… simply to be obedient to what God was calling them to!!! They have inspired me and pushed me to be more like Christ.
THESE are Unsung Heroes!! These are the people we are meeting here in Cambodia!! These are the people that are changing the world and ultimately Eternity! From the world’s eyes they are not famous, but in God’s eyes they are royal sons and daughters who are famous in their Fathers eyes! They have thrones prepared for them in heaven, awaiting the day they reach full glory.
Pray for the ministry they have here in Cambodia and pray for the future relationship the world race could have with these wonderful people.
