So this month we are in “Unsung Hero” month. You might be wondering what in the world could unsung hero month be??!!
An Unsung Hero is “A man/woman/organization dedicated to serving a specific group of people. He/she gives out of an abundance of God’s love daily. His/her name may not be in history books, and his/her acts may be unknown to the rest of the world, but while unrecognized, they shake a generation and move a culture and ultimately build the Kingdom.”
This month we are in Siem Reap Cambodia. A city I have grown to fall in love with in the short week we have been here. Colorful lights light up the streets. Tourists are drawn to the local markets and the rich culture. The locals sell and serve with an abundance of joy, but the darkness and hardness of the Khmer Rouge lingers in the background. And in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of the city, there are those that go unseen; the unsung heroes. The tourist’s do not recognize them and the locals do not appreciate them, but they are shaking this city and building a Kingdom that will last an eternity. They are bringing light to the darkness that this country has seen so much of. They are spreading joy and hope and love like a wildfire in this community.
They are the unsung hero’s. And they are the ones that we are seeking to find this month. The ones that are here, doing the Lord’s work and building Kingdom.
This month in Siem Reap, my team is partnered with another team (Ablaze!!) and are searching and researching and going where the Lord leads to find ministries/churches/organizations that are already established here in Siem Reap. The Goal is to meet new hosts for future world racers to partner with.
In the week and a half, we have been here we have found many new ministries and organizations that we could meet with. We have met with some and have more meetings this following week.
It is so fun/cool meeting with people who are here doing the Lord’s work !!!!! I love hearing their testimonies on how God brought them to Siem Reap and how God stirred in their heart to live a life fully devoted to showing God’s love.
Yes, we are finding contacts here, BUT we need YOUR help!! The world is so big, yet so small. And I know that YOU know, your cousin’s mom’s daughters friend who works with someone who is from Cambodia, who used to go to a church here in Siem Reap, and that she would be dying to introduce us to them!! So please give us her contact info!!!
But seriously, if you know any missionaries/contacts that would help us find new ministries/churches/missionaries here, we would love your help in finding those Unsung Hero’s!
Much Love – Lets find those Unsung Hero’s and partner alongside them to spread God’s love!!
