It was supposed to be our time to walk around the city and prayer walk, but for some reason team Abundance was in a souvenir shop looking at tiny elephant key chains and Thailand knick-knacks. As we were all spread out all around the shop, I walk to the back and see a couple near some Thai daggers. As I get closer, I have the urge to talk to them but some questions come to mind… Are they American? Do they speak English? Will they want to talk?

I walk closer and the extrovert in me wins… “That’s cool,” I say as they pull a dagger out of its sheath.

“Yeah, I actually used to collect swords and I have been trying to find one since I’ve been in Thailand,” the man says in reply.

I was relieved, they spoke english. But not only that, there was something different about them. I instantly felt like they were lifelong friends, and I couldn’t put my finger on why.

“What are you doing in Chiang Mai?” I ask as conversation about the dagger dies down.

“We were actually on a two week mission thing in Hong Kong and the Philippines, and we are ending our trip here.”

There we go. Now I know why they felt like lifelong friends. They love Jesus!!!

One thing led to another and we ended up in a pizzeria with them sitting across from us, pizzas on the table, and conversations to be had.

Y’all this couple was amazing.

Brahm and Jessica were from Canada and have been married for three years. They have devoted themselves to the Lord and listen intently to what the Holy Spirit is telling them to do. They have a heart a heart for children, a heart for other believers, and a heart for serving… And I just learned this from hanging out with them for only a few hours!

We, as a team, needed this more than we thought. They poured into us and encouraged us in a way that we have never been encouraged before. They joined in on our jokes, and encouraged us to make fools of ourselves. They had listening ears, and wisdom beyond their years.

They ended up paying for our lunch… Which if you know anything about WR budget, you know that was an extreme blessing.

They ended up praying and prophesying over us… Which brought about knew and old thoughts, and confirmed things for others.

And they simply blessed us by spending time with us… And we had a hard time leaving.

God knew exactly what we needed as a team, and Brahm and Jessica were it.

As one of our coaches used to say, “Sometimes God likes to show up and show off.” This was definitely one of those instances.

Brahm and Jessica, Team Abundance thanks you from the bottom of our heart.

In Him,

Caleb Callaway
